i just got an email that my financial aid was disbursed. maybe you should check again to see if it has just been disbursed.

Checked my gator email and my main one, nothing. The only email i got today was a " Legislative Change - Excess Hours Surcharge" thing.

Is your bright futures disbursed or is it your other grants. i dont have any grants, just bright futures

Mine was also disbursed this evening, so it shouldn’t be long for you.

So mine was disbursed a couple days ago. I guess they’re literally paying 75% per credit hour? They moved like $200 into Spring semester even though I still owe $700 for tuition this semester. Is there any way to get that money instead of transferring it over?

How is your bright futures “disbursed”. Do they apply it to your tuition statement and tell you what you owe after, or do they send you a check?

For mine, on ISIS under Awards & Disbursements it says:

PREDICTED FL MEDALLION SCHOLAR Awarded 1,425.00
Accepted
Disbursed 0.00

and on my.ufl, under charges due, it shows the full amount of tuition I owe…

my tuition was 2,000+ but after it was disbursed it was only 700+. They just leave you the difference you have to pay.

The best place to see all the fees and disbursements is on the Account Activity page on My Finances. This will show the tuition, the amounts billed to prepaid and Bright Futures, and then indicate if a refund was made for the difference if you have money leftover.

D’s refund hit our bank account today.

Has anyone received the PREDICTED FED ACAD COMP GRANT? I have aid from there but it’s the only award that I am waiting to receive Everything else has been disbursed.

wow seems like im the only one whos Bright Future still hasn’t been disbursed… =/

i haven’t received my PREDICTED FED ACAD COMP GRANT. they have accepted it, but it hasn’t disbursed yet. we just have to wait for it. they same thing happened to me last year. so keep checking online each wednesday( this is the day when aid/ loans are disbursed).

mine has been dispersed…
i have 100% bright futures and i am have 17 credts on my schedule
my tuition is $2863.31 on Account Activity on myufl/ isis
i still have to pay $378.31
…is that correct?

100% bright future no longer pays for all of your tuition. It pays a flat rate of $126 per credit hour. However, one credit hour at UF is $168.15. If you don’t have any other scholarships to pick up the difference, then you have to pay the difference.

Ibgirl09 is correct. There is no more 100%/75%. There is the Academic scholarship and the Medallion Scholarship from BF. They are flat rates paid by the credit hour. Tuition is more than that as is the tuition differential and some of the fees.

The state U’s ESTIMATE the bright futures payment based on taking 15 credit hours, but the actual disbursement is on actual credit hours. So for some, the actual amount due GOES UP after the disbursement because they are taking more hours.

I like how rather than raising the standards on Bright Futures they’re making across the board cuts (or, perhaps more accurately, non-raises).

They did both. Higher standards are phasing in.

I’m pleased that they’re finally upping the “75%” tuition requirements so that you actually have to be above average to get state money. However, apparently they don’t go far enough if Florida isn’t making at the very least tuition free for the best and brightest to stay in-state. Then again, maybe Florida realizes that regardless of whether they get an education here, they’re probably going to have to move out of state to get a decent job with an advanced degree if they’re not in healthcare. Florida probably won’t see a ROI on me, for example, since there are no jobs in my field in Florida.

Anyone still waiting for the PREDICTED FED ACAD COMP GRANT? I am.
