Bring a portfolio of awards to interview

Is this a good idea? I have a lot of awards and I was wondering if it was a good idea to bring the certificates to an interview.

Thanks

Probably not necessary. They want to know about your extracurriculars and what you learned from them…they’ll read all about individual awards in your app.

Common app only has 5 spots, and some of the awards/certifications are for my extracurriculars

you could outline them in a 1-2 page resume

I interview for an HYP college. A portfolio of awards would add nothing besides perhaps lead to avenues of discussion – but these can be done just by chatting or a resume. Write ups of use to the admissions office would not contain a recap of the student’s awards whatsoever. Good luck to you nonetheless

One of my friends had ALL of her certificates and awards bound into a book. I think it’s a bit excessive. You could follow b’smom’s advice: talk about them in a resume and upload it to the common app under the “additional info” section.
