I'm not looking to bring a 26 inch flat screen tv with an xbox 360 to college. But I do want to possibly bring my n64, because I know that it could be fun sometimes, but not fun enough to distract me from my work. Also, I can't live without my record player right now. Do you guys know anybody in your dorms who has a turntable in their room with some speakers set up?....or is that a little over the top.

No, it's not over the top. Records are pretty cool and I've known more than a few people who had full-blown DJ turntable set-ups in their dorm. You're talking about records, but it's no different than people bringing their boomboxes.

The N64 is a social thing and you could even use it as a party favor...Mario Kart anyone?

My buddy's roommate has a record player. It's really chill to go and play some records and we do it every now and then, especially after a smoke session. :D
There's also this kid in another building who has the full dj setup and mixes whenever there's a party in the building.

N64 is a sick idea. We have one hooked up in our main lounge. Mario Kart all day long!

N64 would be awesome (I know a few people that brought theirs up).

And though I've never seen a turntable in a dorm room before, that would be even more awesome.

All you need is Goldeneye.

bring N64, you will be an insta-hero.

also i have a turntable and it is boss. bring that too.

Most of the guys I know have some sort of gaming system, whether it is Wii, N64, Xbox 360, PS2, or whatever. You will make insta-friends this way; tell any 18-25 year old male you have Mario Kart, super smash bros, guitar hero/rock band, or Halo in your room, and you will be everyone's new BFF.

I don't know anyone who has a turntable but that's kind of a quirky convo starter. If you have room for it, I'd say do it.

Your roommate will probably bring a 360 anyways, so the N64 will be great for when it red-rings (which it inevitably will)

I have a turntable in my dorm room, and everyone who finds out thinks that it's absolutely awesome. Definitely not over the top. There's just nothing like doing homework to records, anyway.

I am going to bring my mini recording studio to college. It has a turntable device on it, and its pretty nice actually.
