i've been with my girlfriend since my sophomore year and we both are going to tamu in the fall. when our friends hear this, they seem to get judgmental because it looks like we are following each other and say that it would be a mistake because we could've given up different schools and aren't able to date around even though we tell them that tamu was a mutual school for the both of us (she wouldn't let me know what schools she was aplying to until i made a list of the ones i wanted to apply to), arguably the best in state for engineering and architecture (what the two of us wanted to study), and offered great financial aid for us both. what are y'alls view on this?

you will probably be labeled as the one with the girlfriend…most people go to college to start fresh and scoff at anyone getting in their way.

just part of teenage culture.

as long as you too stay devoted to each other… then it really doesnt matter what anyone thinks. But TAMU is way bigger than a high school and that many more ppl… So if you guys really are meant to be together than other ppl and college life wont phase you.

I met my bf freshman year of college and we both figured out we wanted to transfer to A&M… it was originally his idea but I wasn’t really thinking about the possibilities and lessons I could learn by becoming an Aggie… I did my research and liked what I saw, So now I’m an Aggie… but since he didn’t get in the same time I did we will have to do a LDR for a semester or 2 until he can try for admission’s again… but I’m alright with that and I know he will make it and that we will make this work bcuz we are in love and trusting , but ppl thought we were just followin each other when we told our friends… and technically to some point I was… until I wanted to do it for myself and I can’t wait to get on campus…but it will be even better when my bf is there with me.

No one will really care or know outside your friends from high school. I have a lot of friends who are girlfriends/boyfriends from high school and followed each other to A&M. All is fine.
