Bristol Scholarship

If anybody has received the Bristol merit scholarship would you please share your GPA, SAT's, class rank, etc, and what the date was that you were notified...and with your acceptance letter or after?

Last year, there were 3 posters (or children of posters) who received the Bristol, Schambach, or Bacot Gunn Kempf scholarships at Hamilton (none of whom are attending, however). I'll see what I can dig up.

Just checked - it was mum2boys whose son was awarded the Bristol last year. Couldn't find his stats, but he decided to attend Dartmouth instead.

And as for notification, it was the last Saturday in March. The letters with scholarship/FA had been mailed on Friday, but the decisions (along with FA and scholarship info) were posted online on MyHamilton on Saturday.

This is much later than the original post, but I just saw it and thought it might help anyway....
I was notified of the Bristol Scholarship on the My Hamilton financial aid page when I checked the admissions status, and a letter also came in the folder for admitted students.

stats (I'm a little shaky on these, haven't had to dig them up for a while)

GPA: around 107/100 weighted, 97.5/100 unweighted
class rank: 1/82
ACT: 34
SAT: 2190 (740 cr, 790 math, 660 writing)
ecs: president of mock trial, ed-in-chief of yearbook, treasurer/performer of drama club, vice-president of youth against racism, student body president

I hope this helps!

Anyone know how many merit scholarships Hamilton offers?

Thanks.

Three. It's in my viewbook. I can tell you the names later, I don't have it with me now.

The William M. Bristol, Jr., '17 Scholars Program provides half-tuition scholarships (equal to approximately $70,000 for four years) plus a $3,500 research grant to ten of Hamilton's most outstanding applicants.

The profile of a Bristol Scholar is top five percent of high school class, SAT median of 1450 and strong involvement in school and/or community activities.

The Hans H. Schambach '43 Scholarship recognizes approximately ten of the strongest students from each entering class by meeting their full financial need without loans plus a $3,500 research stipend.

The profile of a Schambach Scholar is top five percent of high school class, SAT median of 1450 and strong involvement in school and/or community activities.

The Bacot, Gunn, Kempf Family Scholarship is available to students from Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Essex County, New York. J. Carter Bacot '55 established this scholarship to encourage geographic diversity among the hamilton student body and to provide financial assistance to families with financial need, though a limited number of merit-based grants are also considered.

and there's also 2k for NMFs who list Hamilton as numero uno.

fingers crossed for Bristol!

Please post here when you are notified of admission and/or the Bristol scholarship.

I was notified of ED II admission on February 13... priority mail envelope... FA package included... no Bristol... but my package was amazing from Hamilton! Good luck

Hey everyone, about merit scholarships: Hamilton has just decided to eliminate merit scholarships, starting with the class of 2012.

http://www.hamilton.edu/news/more_news/display.cfm?id=11946

If you are coming in for 2011 and you get a merit scholarship, they will honor the commitment.
