Britta Pitchers - - Do they work

OK - So I bought a Britta pitcher to see how it works before August. It seems like it doesn't do anything. Am I doing something wrong or are my expectations too high?

My dorm has disgusting water, I mean just awful. The britta pitcher that I have removes all the nastiness from the water.

make sure you put the filter in correctly so the water goes through the filter and not just around it.

Brita pitchers do work… you might have to run water through the filter a couple times at the beginning. I will drink lots of different water, but I prefer the filtered water. I have drank yellow water, brown water, milky water, water that leaves a layer of sediment on the bottom of a gallon jug, etc… from various parts of the country.

Brita water tastes excellent to me. Tap water does include “beneficial” chemicals though, but (IMO) they make it taste funny. I also think the different bottled water brands have distinct tastes. I don’t like Dasani water.
