Broadway Ticket Help Needed

Parents in the Cafe suggested I post this here as well. We are looking for tickets for the evening performance of Wicked Saturday, October 11 in NYC. I've tried several online brokers but the tickets are either sold out, way too expensive, or they can't promise to get them shipped in time before we leave town for New York.

I'm willing to pay around $200 for good tickets. Saturday evening is the only time we can go. I would appreciate any suggestions.

You could try going to Ticketmaster and see if they sell premium seats (which are more expensive than regular seats) if those are sold out than I'm sorry but you're really out of luck. Your only other options are Stubhub (which will be very expensive) or going to the theater on the day of the performance and trying the cancellation line and/or the lottery. To be honest though a Saturday night performance not booked in advance is nearly impossible to get tickets for and its been that way for years now. This is a show that constantly sells out so you really have to buy tickets a few weeks at minimum in advance.

There are lots of other (and in my personal opinion) even better shows in NYC so take a trip to the TKTS booth and see what they have available, tickets are half price there (and no Wicked is never on the TKTS booth).

over30, I replied to your post yesterday in the Parents Cafe but I didn't realize that it was THIS weekend you were going to the city, or my reply would have been different. Wicked is a show that regularly sells at close to 100% attendance, even at this time of year, and even with the largest theatre on Broadway. It will likely be virtually impossible to get tickets on this short notice. People order tickets often months in advance. :) I did a quick ticketmaster search and there are no seats available for Saturday night, not even any of the $300 premium seats. Even at $200/each that you'd be willing to pay wouldn't get you premium tickets, but even they are sold out. There are lots of other shows to see, though, and I agree with actresstobe that there are better ones!

I just saw Gypsy a few weeks ago and was able to get tickets at a resonable price same day for a Saturday night performance. Patti LuPone, Boyd Gains and Laura Bennatti (sp?) were fabulous, and was the show. if you are going to be in the city this weekend and are looking to see a great show, I would recommend this one.

I found 49 seats on Saturday and 22 on Sunday:

HoosierMom2012 - you beat me :D; we LOVE that that site, it is really the best way to get tickets to Broadway shows (aside from TKTS), I think their interactive seating maps are super clever.

My guess is that these are the brokers that over30 has already said were unable to get the tickets to her in time.

I just tried the site for last minute tickets there are procedures to purchase with delivery on site at last minute. You can still order.

Can I order at the last minute? How will I get my tickets?
We have summarized the best way to order secondary market tickets on the last days before the show. You can sometime order tickets even on the day of the show, although it requires extra effort and may not always work out. Since most brokers offering the tickets for Broadway shows are based around the theater district you can usually pick up the "same day" tickets in their office or a nearby restaurant.
To make sure you get your last minute tickets on time (when there is no more time for express delivery)
please follow these steps:
1. Order tickets online: No phone orders for "Same day" tickets.
2. Since there is no option to select "pick-up", leave the default express delivery selection.
3. In the "special instructions" field enter the following (or similar): "Order is conditional on being able to pick up the tickets in the Times Square area in time for the show. Please do not charge the express delivery fee, if not used, although the system adds it to invoice. Please call my mobile [give all the numbers they can reach you during the day]. Thanks"
4. Add any other instructions/conditions you wish, including those relating to the tickets you purchase.
5. In the next page (step two) you will notice the delivery charge, but based on your "special instructions" (in paragraph 3 above) you will usually not be charged for delivery. In some cases delivery fee is charged for delivery to the pick-up spot.
6. Complete the rest of purchase process.
7. Wait for the confirmation email. You will usually get it within one hour during business hours, including the weekend. Most business hours are 9AM to 5/8PM Monday thru Saturday and 10AM to 3PM on Sunday.
8. In the confirmation email you will find the name of the selling broker and their contact information. Typically: "Your tickets will be provided to you by XYZ. If you have any questions about your order, please contact XYZ directly via email at Sales@XYZ.com or phone at 1-1-800-XYZ."
9. Do not wait for the broker to call you. Call them, confirm the order, and find out where you can pick the tickets.
10. Enjoy the show!
11. Though this description is a bit detailed, it is a very quick and easy process. I have used it myself a few times for last minutes purchases and had no problem picking up the tickets on time for the show.
