Anyone have any info on the Delta College program at Brockport. My D may be interested in the International Studies track and wondered about it. How many students are there? Is there an admission process? Is the curriculum more challenging?

Any general info about Brockport would be appreciated as well. How easy is it to get to Rochester? Is there anything happening on campus on weekends?

You should call the college and speak to the Delta college office...Sue is terrific! I read the webstite, but couldn't explain it at first, so call..there is quite abit to it...more than can briefly be explained here.

My son seems interested as well so I've done some research, but haven't yet gone to Brockport.

Essentially the program is offered to about a chosen 60 students annually. Minimum requirements are about an 86 gpa. Students are mentored by faculty and students, take alternate courses to satisfy the general education requirement, are required to do intership/apprentice work in their chosen field and prepare for employment after college. Important skills such as resume building, networking, interviewing and the like are stressed.

So already seem to be aware of the international track.

Seems like an interesting program and college. Great dorms and food, small sized, small town on the erie canal and close to Rochester...we will be visiting soon.

lsd87: Thanks for the info. That is helpful, especially about the admissions factors. H will be taking her to the open house in Nov. and they plan on setting up a visit with Delta. We did visit in the spring and she REALLY liked the campus. Just didn't get a chance to see around the town area too much.
