Bronchitis ans SSAT exam yesterday

We flew to a city in a neighboring country for dd to take the SSAT. She had bronchitis and is still under the weather. I don't know how well or poorly she did on them, but the results will not be what she is capable of when she is well.

Last year, as a 7th grader, she took the SSAT and scored 99% verbal and 80% for math.

If her scores are significantly reduced this time, is there value in retaking the exam? I would need to fly her to the States and have her take them with an educational consultant. They are offered overseas in again after the January 15th deadline. I assume (but haven't checked) that this will be too late for most of the schools.

Hmmm… sending an 8th grader to the U.S. to take a 3-hour test seems extreme.

A quick look at the SSAT website shows November and December test dates for MANY countries—don’t know if yours is on the list, but I should think there is a neighboring country that DOES offer it before January (at least that’s how it appears from the SSAT site…) Here is where I found the info. It took me 3 clicks:
[SSAT - Centers-November 2012, International](http://www.ssat.org/centersearch/centers/dates/int-nov)

I would have sworn that I looked at the international lists and didn’t see any offering in December. Now, I clearly see them. Thank you. I don’t know how I missed them last time. Probably too stressed out due to her illness.

Stress-induced blindness!!

Actually, I’d say the SSAT site is not the easiest to navigate… good luck to you and your daughter!
