Hi everyone im a junior whose really interested in the Brookyln college bs/md program

summer of freshmen year i went 2 a science program at queens college
volunteered at senior center 56 hrs this summer
shuld hav over 200hrs in comunity service by the end of the school year

any advice to increase my chances of getting in?

do some research this summer, enter intel and westinghouse
also
get as high sat as possible - though minimum needed to apply to program is 1200 (math + critical reading). try to get at least 1400 (math + CR) and you should be solid candidate to get interview

It’s much easier said than done to do research for one summer and then enter intel/siemens. Brooklyn’s BA/MD isn’t very research oriented anyway so it wouldn’t hurt to go without research, it’s not really needed. I would say differently if it were a program like NU HPME.

ill try to find somewhere to do research but i was actually interested in the brown university , so you think you want to be a doctor summer program… would that help out as well?? or mayb the National Honors Convocation for Medicine

wat do you guys think? or shuld i just stick to research?

hmmm i see thats a good point … well does it look good that i took bio research freshmen year (my group was actually going retake the class the following yr to enter intel but the class didnt fit into our schedule) ?

should i do research in the summer or take bio research again senior year?

Albany’s programs, SBU (in NY) with GW, SUNY Upstate with some colleges (have to be a rural NY resident), Stony Brook, URochester. Those are the ones I can name.
