I want to get in one of these engineering fields: Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
I googled a bit and learned that Brooklyn College has a Coordinated Engineering program which would allow me to transfer after to year and I plan on using it to transfer to City college for an accredited engineering degree.
I want to know more about Hunter. I only saw “Engineering and Physics” on its website and have no idea what kind of degree this would give me.
I just want a bachelor’s degree in one of the engineering fields I mentioned above. What’s the best option for me?
The Coordinated Engineering program is like a 3/2 program, except it’s a 2/2 program. Brooklyn College doesn’t have engineering programs of their own. So instead, what you do is spend your first two years of college at Brooklyn taking the prerequisites and general education courses. Then you transfer to one of three schools: either City College, NYU Tandon, or the College of Staten Island to finish your engineering degree.
It looks like Hunter’s Engineering Physics track is outdated. Hunter doesn’t have engineering or even engineering prep, so if you want to major in engineering I wouldn’t go to Hunter.
I think out of the CUNY schools, starting at City College would probably be the best idea since they natively have engineering programs at that campus. The Brooklyn College program is a good alternative if, for some reason, you can’t go to City College for the first two years.
u wanna choose an ABET accredited engineering program
