I think I heard that Broward and Jennings were recently renovated. Is that correct? If so, how are those halls now?
I’ve read a few people’s comments that freshmen should consider Murphree area, but others say that it’s mostly upperclasssmen. Any more thoughts on that? How about Murphree area as compared to Broward and Jennings?
S will probably rush in the fall, so should he choose something close to frat row? I know that not all of the frats are on frat row, so maybe it doesn’t really matter?
My daughter is in Jennings now, and they (and Broward) are renovated. The rooms and bathrooms are fine. However, these are the most social dorms, which is a plus and a negative. It’s a plus as its easy to met other freshman, many taking the same classes, etc. It also has a high % of students rushing at frats or Sororities.
On the downside, the bathrooms are really rough by Sunday, till maintenance gets in there on Monday.
Plan on doing a lot of studying in the library and not in your room…
Would you say Broward/Jennings are the best choice for a Freshman who is pretty shy and wants a social experience, I don’t mind going to the library to study. Scared of being around lots of people in sororites and frats if I don’t plan on rushing, though…
