Broward or Wildwood?

I received a priority number in the 260's, so first of all, what are the chances I could get a spot in Broward, and second, would it be better to try for Broward or grab a spot in Wildwood?
I like how close Wildwood is to the athletic complexes, and I love going to baseball/ football games, and plan on spending some quality time at the gym, but I also love food, and don't want to be too far away from the dining halls.

Also, is there a difference in the size of the rooms in each hall?

Sorry for so many questions, I just really want to make the best decision I can for the next year! :)

I would pick Wildwood personally. Of course, I lived there so I am kinda biased.

Broward requiring the meal plan would be a killer for me now (granted, I had a meal plan my freshman year). That’s just too much money to spend on something that isn’t worth it.

Wildwood is farther from the Suwannee Room, but it’s only about 10 minutes from both Suwannee and Fresh Food.

My daughter decided that she will stay in Broward. She was on the FSU Interactive map site and she weighed the pros and cons of all of the different dorms. What she likes most about Broward is the close proximity to where all of her classes will be, the dining hall and most especially the library. She tends to stay up late at night studying and it is nice to have the library right next to Broward Dorm. The biggest negative of Broward is the distance to the gym (10 minute walk). My D felt that she could just take the shuttle or walk there when she was ready to go. With the Broward Dorm, she can still eat and hopefully not be late for class. Much more convenient especially if it is raining. I like her reasoning!

If I were you I’d pick Wildwood. A lot of my classes (personally) are closer to Wildwood, it’s new and big, near the Figg (a dining hall), Doak, and the gym. Wildwood is basically the dorm that everyone wants. People don’t think that about Broward, even though it’s nice.

But part of the reason I really like Wildwood is the fact you don’t need a meal plan. Meal plan gets really old quickly and you’re most likely gonna not want it (even if you love food, i do too) by the end of the year. But it’s nice if you have a lot of friends with meal plans cause you can hang out when you eat as opposed to making your own meals (which takes work and walking to publix which is far from wildwood)

Broward is right next to Suwannee, the main/most popular dining hall. It’s pretty close to Landis green (where people play sports and stuff) and not far from Stroz (the lib) as nyhokie mentioned. So if you think you’re gonna study all night a lot, and know you want a meal plan, Broward might be better for you.

My son is also trying to decide between Broward and Wildwood. He got priority 29, so he will be able to get his choice. He loves sports and currently he is member of 3 varsity teams, but he also loves easy access to food. Question: how far is publix, if he walks? Thanks.

Publix is not really within what most people would consider walking distance, especially from the east side of campus. It is past the western edge of campus, and a bit of a walk up Ocala Road to the store.

Google maps lists the distance from Broward Hall to Publix on Ocala at 1.9 to 2.0 miles depending on which route you walk- a 40+ minute walk each way. Even from Wildwood it’s 1.6 miles, about 35 minutes walking.

From campus, the obvious choice to get to Publix would be the Heritage Grove bus route, which stops across the street from the store.
