Brown 2014 - ED applicants

Same here. Though even if I do get in, I might hafta go somewhere with merit aid instead…
Ah well. I’ll deal with that situation if/when I encounter it.

Well lets hope we all get in :D

I’m applying ED too. At my income level (>100k) I’d get pretty good aid. My mom says she’d definitely find a way to make it happen.

I don’t know exactly what my family’s income level is, but I know that it’s under 100k, but not by much. I know that means that Brown won’t give out loans, but it also means that our EFC will probably be more than a little painful. And my parents have some money saved for me, but not all that much… so even if I get in, it might not be feasible, at least not without large loans. :(

I’m considering EDing Brown… I’m just trying to find a well-balanced Ivy that still has decent music.

Anyone considering music performance here?

I thought that means that they replace loans with grants?

@Obstinate

I believe that’s the case, but often the numbers that FAFSA and Brown come out with are higher than a family feels it can truly pay. In such a case, one of the suggested options is to take out a loan to cover the difference. Brown is not Harvard financially, and the aid packages tend to show it, particularly for people in that income range.

Providence has a great music scene, if that helps :p

Ughhhh we’re so dormant

haha it has been unusually dormant.

what i heard for people whose financial packages are still too much is that Brown gives you a job…that you don’t get paid for. I heard that it happens a lot at Brown and you end up teaching kids and stuff like that.
I wouldn’t mind.

Hey everyone!

I think I’ll probably be applying early decision to Brown, but I’m not 100% sure yet. I’m visiting the campus in August and I’ll probably make up my mind then.

Well, I’m not applying ED; I’m not even going to be a senior yet =O

I just wanted to warn you guys about familiarizing yourselves with only one school; if you aren’t accepted (which I hope doesn’t happen!), then it’s not going to be easy to move on.
I’d spend some time and develop a list of colleges.

Anyway, I’m a prospective student who will most likely apply, and I love the Brown curriculum =)

I think this is a great article about the students who worked hard to develop and implement the curriculum: http://dl.lib.brown.edu/pdfs/11720711380.pdf

I’ve got a long list of colleges I’m interested in, but Brown tops the list, no doubt about it.

I am DEFINITELY applying ED to brown, though I don’t think I’ll get in.A-Level expected grades: 4As, 1B, SAT I composite: 2110(a bit low, I know). Hey guys, start sharing, Nov.1 is almost here…

Start sharing what?

Oh good luck to everyone… i dont think ill be applying ED though, I think I may have a beter chance applying regular.

Wait, is the brown supplement available yet? or have the questions just never changed?

mid-August.

The Brown supplement isn’t out yet but I’ve written essays on all of last year’s prompts!

Where did you find those at? I probably won’t start writing them yet haha but I would like to take a look.
