Brown 2014 - ED applicants

Has anyone received the view book in the mail?

poorplayer, I am indeed  Downeast Maine…ugh!

How do we know the exact date ED decisions will be released? I checked the Brown website and all I saw was early/mid December or something.

From what I gathered from stalking the official '13 ED thread, they’re released on Dec. 15th, at 5:00 pm.

okay cool. It is way too long until then…

Does anyone know how many recommendations are needed for PLME applicants?

hahaha Maine is beautiful!!! :)

so, i sent my app in already, but taking the SAT2s and ACTs one more time!! one more year and i will hopefully be at brown!! EDDDD!!! :)

To have a decent shot at ED, you should have at least 700 on each section of the SAT/SATII’s according to some statistics…

no lies

There are always exceptions.

^ True dat.

I would think that to have ANY shot at Brown you would have to have at least 700 on the SAT sections not just for ED :o…

 • a bunch of good extra-curriculars.

I dunno though… :o!

Is anyone else a Green Day fan?

@poorplayer

40% of the Class of 2013 had a critical reading score less than 700.
36.6% of the Class of 2013 had a math score less than 700.
37% of the Class of 2013 had a writing score less than 700.

You can make the case that most of those people were hooked or athletes or something of the like, but Brown is definitely not a school that you can peg standard admissions requirements for.

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

Yup. Quirky’s the word.

definitely just legitimately applied today.

And no offense, but tetrisfan, you are completely CONSUMED by this thread. XD

Haha no, I wouldn’t exactly say that I’m consumed - I don’t have a burning passion to open this thread as soon as I wake up or anything. I just look in whenever I’m online.

hmmm if i get an extra letter of recommendation does any1 know how I send it in?

A) Put it in with my common app
B) let is stand alone with my name/DoB in the header
C) give it to my counselor to send with teacher recs.

…ye I’m revising SAT IIs… hahaha

I think any option would be fine.

hey so is ed more difficult, less difficult or the same as rd in terms of admittance?
