Brown 2014 - ED applicants

oh definitely. the 2013 thread ruined the next month and a half for me. Some of their stats were AMAZING and still rejected! Advice for those of you who haven’t read it… DON’T. It will save you countless hours of much needed sleep.

where else did every one apply?

I’m purposely not reading that thread :p

Oh my gosh, I’m listening to Britney for the first time since…forever. Wow. Yeah.

I’ve only turned in my UMich app apart from this one. I’ll wait for my ED decision before sending out the rest.

Tetrisfan r u from michigan? I’m applying to Umich too, but Brown is a million times better.

i turned in my umich one already as well. i like the school but it obviously can’t compare (which we can all agree on seeing as we’re ED applicants).

i’m from michigan and i know a lot of kids at umich. i’ve heard it changes you… and not necessarily in a good way. rather, there is a snobbish atmosphere there. i’ve never noticed anything but i grew up on campus… my dad went there and he was a bit nostalgic.

Holla if u love this school!

Hollaaaaaa!!!
Can’t wait until Dec. 15 :-P

Hey ED applicants, for any of you who also applied to PLME, I just made a thread ^^

i definitely agree with the whole all over the charts stats… u cud have perfect sat and it wouldnt matter and you could have ok sat scores and get accepted…it makes no sense…oh and im applying to u of chicago =) def my number 2 skool!

Nah I’m actually an international student :)

Brown >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> UMich. 'Nuff said.

Where are you from, tetris?

I’m applying to UPitt as soon as I get my ACT scores in. I actually really like it there (not as much as Brown, obviously. :D) I hang out in Oakland on their main campus all the time. : ]

I’m from India.

Yea i don’t really want to go to umich, but its a good school and close to home. But everyone is snobby there and im like its only u of m. lol

Hey guys,
We should all post our stats. Here’s an example from the thread for last year’s ED applicants.

Stats:
SAT: 2300 (780 CR 720 M 800 W)
SAT IIs: 700 Biology M 740 Literature
GPA: 3.97
Rank: my school doesn’t rank
Other stats: None that I can think of…
Subjective:
Essays: Worked hard, but I had two typos! Fail. But they were awesome.
Teacher Recs: One was fantastic, don’t know about the other.
Counselor Rec: Don’t know
Hook (if any): Two published novels (yeah, I’m that girl)
Location/Person:
State or Country: Maryland
School Type: Small non-religious private
Ethnicity: white half-Jew
Gender: I am a chica
Other Factors: not a one
General Comments: holy crap

Only two published novels? Please. lol lol!

umich is definitely a good school. i’d really like to go to the med school there though. its much harder if you get your undergrad degree there

id rather not post stats. i can’t see how that will help my situation anymore. i’m already stressing looking at last years stats!

Haha are any of you published writers? I’m certainly not!

No, but I’m fairly confident that this year’s nanowrimo novel will go on to become a New York Times bestseller. : ]

I wrote for my community’s newspaper for almost two years; does that count? And I was featured in a national equestrian magazine.

I am! That’s my hook essentially. I write for town publications, smaller national publications, go to writing conferences, and have some poetry published. shurg Don’t think it’s enough to get me in, but hopefully it helps distinguish me a tad.

Hey guys, I’m not an ED applicant but am a Brown RD applicant due to financial reasons. Love the school though, so I hope you dont mind me hijacking. Haha. Tetrisfan, which part of India? I just got back from Bangalore.

when i was in 6th grade they put a poem of mine in an anthology but i hardly think that counts
