i spent 3 days thinking of how i was gonna write my cmc supp essay…it was soo hard

7.stanford
8.tufts

WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!

lmao! really? that’s your list?

haha yeah, but im international(well actually dual citizinship), and in my own country(the netherlands) with my high school type and grades, I automatically get into every university(it’s different than in america). Therefore I didn’t need safeties or even targets(which I do have). Then I added UVM, for in case I got rejected everywhere else, I wouldn’t feel bad because I probably get in at UVM.

for a half american I made a lot of spelling/grammar mistakes in that last post:p

lol…no biggie! i’m international too…and URI is my backup school (i think) :-)…its pretty easy to get into

Hey,

I know the website says that common app school forms must arrive by 1st Jan. But I don’t think I’ll be able to get mine in by then. I’ve heard that most unis will still accept if it’s a few days late. How flexible are Brown about school forms?

Thanks :)

yeah i have the same problem…i dont know how i’m gonna get my transcripts to them but i heard its allowed to scan it to them…but eventually you’re still gonna have to send them a sealed one

So? What are you going to do?

Brown or Tufts

Yale

Boston U or Hamilton

NYU, UVM or UChicago

UNC

Duke

@jjavdm – Yeah, with a list like that, you’ll probably get into UVM. That being said, you could probably get into some decent schools that aren’t ivies.

Anyway, submitted App w/ Physics Essay today. Now to wait patiently. Or incredibly impatiently.

scan it to them and then your school sends them the sealed copy (probably after jan 1)

ok I see. good idea!

My list is incredibly long. UCB, UCLA, Yale, Williams, Swarthmore, Amherst. UPenn, Carleton, Duke, Wellesley, Barnard, Bowdoin, Colgate, Hamilton, Pomona, Rice, and Smith. I’m a bit all over the place and I’m not quite finished with all of them. Brown is def. my first choice, but I’m not banking on getting in. I’ve visited and met the kids there and they just stun me; its so wonderful. I think my weakest point is my scores. Only decent. What about you fools? Where are you doubting?

I don’t know if my essays were good enough.

I think they were, since it was what I wanted them to be, but none of them were overly creative.

My overall app probably doesn’t make me stand out from the pack as much as I want it to. But I don’t know what else I could have done.

^ Also my sat 1 scores, im so nervous about that!! For the rest is think like good, but I haven’t really compared it to other people. And awards/honors are so different from the american system, that im worried about that too

Wow, I’m really impressed with everyone’s schools. I don’t remember if I posted them on this thread allready, but I applied to Brown-Cornell-Pepperdine-Dartmouth-University of Rochester-Wake Forest-SUNY Geneseo + Boston College.

I think my test scores are a strength, overall transcript is neutral, extracurrics/community service/work experience are a strength, essays neutral, recs neutral… but idk though. Brown is ultra selective!
