Brown 2015

Who’s Going???

yay we have our own forum!!
i am :)

Can I ask if you guys did early decision?

Do you know when those who didn’t do ED will hear?

we hear end of the month… ahhh im crossing my fingers!

i did ed  and like epizeuxis everyone else will probably find out either march 31st or april 1st

Supposedly the Ivies are releasing decisions on March 30 at 5pm EST. Good luck, Floridalady! I’ll be anxiously refreshing my computer then too!

I keep reading that all the Ivy decisions go out on March 30th at 5 pm but how does Brown do it? Do they have a decision website, or an email like Harvard?

At least in the recent past, Brown has used a website, and then you’re later mailed a letter (my letter was actually specific to me, which was a nice touch).

My D is anxiously waiting for March 30th. She got an email letting her know that she will be receiving an answer on that date. Oh lordy Lord!!! We are truely nervous.

CMIRA003 - can I ask when she received her email? My D is also waiting anxiously.

I have not recieved an email… :(

Floridalady, she received it last week, on Thursday. Yesterday we received by regular mail, a letter from Syracuse “waiving” her NCP. Thank God. Let’s see what happens. She told me that she won’t be checking her email until the end of the month. Me, the mom, have already eaten her nails…
I am soo nervous. I could not attend a college, had to work, we didn’t have too much to go buy, even though I had a full scholarship, but I worked so hard for her to get into a good college, I am freaking out, thinking if I filled in the applications correctly or left some information out… My first time in filling these applications for a universirty to the mainland. We live in Puerto Rico… so, I am asking for Almighty’s help with this. And of course that she will be receiving a full scholarship. :-)

The email my D got said the decisions will ONLY be available online. They are not mailing them. The only reason she got the email is because she had NOT set up her online account with Brown. I would imagine if you have an account set up there would be no reason for the email. Good luck.

My D had a problem setting up her email account, and when she got that running and ready they sent her that email. Pardon my ignorance, but what is a “likely letter” I have been reading about on other posts? :-)

A likely letter is a letter that some schools send out to a tiny fraction of their candidates, congratulating them for their hard work and more or less explicitly stating that they should expect an acceptance. I gather that some athletes tend to get these, as well as the very top academic students. There’s no need to worry if you don’t receive one, but it is rather nice to know you’ll be accepted somewhere.

Thank you Uroogla for the explanation. :-)

To all the nervous parents and prospective students:
This might sound self-contradicting since I aspire to go to Harvard, but you have to realize something. In life, nothing really matters. If we cure cancer, it doesn’t really matter. If mankind becomes purple with protruding horns, it doesn’t matter. If you don’t get into your “dream college”, it doesn’t matter. In the end of time-when the universe disappears, there won’t be any remnants of mankind and its creations. You have to realize that the universe is infathomably big, and humans are but a pathetic speck on its ever-expanding body, and what we do won’t matter because eventually all of it wil be destroyed. Not to be a downer, but don’t worry so much!

This Forum just took my anxiety to an all time high! i cant spend an hour without thinking about Brown! @HarvardBoundNY, i get where you re coming from but its much easier said than done! Since my interview ( which was about a month ago) i’ve been thinking about this nonstop!!! I know Brown isnt the end of my life but i love it there soooo much and sincerely it is even about Brown being an Ivy anymore, in fact i sometimes dread the fact that its an Ivy because it just makes it that much harder! Plus i really need that open curriculum and i know that i would love all the community service… So for me, when i hear “Brown University”, Ivy league is all i hear anymore, i hear the best match school for me, the place i need to be, the perfect school for me! lolz big smile goodluck to all of us!!! (p.s. im from Nigeria) and cant wait for April 1st ( an acceptance would be the best"est" birthday present!!! ever * another big smile*

hi guys! This is so exciting that we have our own forum  I can’t wait to meet you all next year, and best of luck fighting the senioritis (hahaha)

hey all!
Just want to say good luck to all of you hearing back at the end of march…we have an awesome class so far and I can’t wait to meet everyone! But I’d also like to second what others have said…try not to think of any school as your “dream school;” college is what YOU make of it. Try to believe that! It’s the truth. Most people forget about all of that once they’re at college.
But best of luck!
