“We are currently in the middle of our heavy reading and committee season; stay tuned for March 30th at 5PM, when decisions will be released on our online portal.”

So, you use your ID that you’ve been given earlier in the year and sign on the portal, finding out whether you were accepted or rejected. Nerve-wracking or what?

I am so thankful for the likely letter I received… You know that moment right when you’re getting into a perfectly-hot hot tub? And how it’s just like “ahhhhh…”?

I hope all of you may feel that way come March 30th.

The Board of Admission recently completed its review of your application for admission to the Class of 2015. I am delighted to inform you that in recognition of your extraordinary performance - both inside and beyond the classroom - the members of the Board have voted to confer on you a “likely” status."

Does anyone know any numbers regarding the acceptance rate for those previously deferred? Does it deviate significantly from the overall acceptance rate?

Mrowland: according to the admissions office, the acceptance rate for deferred students is about equal to the acceptance rate for all RD students. I think that’s about 9%?

I’m waiting for the date 3/30 too. Like everyone on this forum, I really want to be a Bruno freshman this fall. Hope to see all of you guys at Brown. Everything about Brown caught my attention at first glance. The programs, student life, surroundings are so amazing. Moreover, I’ve got some relatives living in the state - Rhodes Island, so I think Brown is much more than a dream choice. However, I admit that it’s absolutely tough to get in Brown and my chance is nearly 0,0000…1%. Yeah! I know that but I still pray and hope for the miracle on 3/30. Best wishes for all of guys in the same circumstance!

I’m really glad Brown was nice enough to give us some warning as to when to expect decisions, even though it makes waiting so much harder. I’d just like to add my confirmation to the previously expressed opinions on the thread as to the fact that it’s really not the end of life if we don’t get in. I know in my own life I haven’t been very good at expressing this point of view, but I sincerely hope others can and I will begin to.

ohnono, i was accepted to Brown ED and deferred from PLME. i was surprised to even get deferred. i’m not expecting to get PLME at all, but it sure would be nice.
collegewhatwhat, they are probably mailing decisions, too… my ED decision came in the mail a couple days after i saw it online, but it was there…lol.

I recently got an email with a link to the page that admissions decisions will be posted, but it also said this at the bottom:

“Please note that we will not be mailing decision letters. To access the online service, you will need the username and passkey emailed to you earlier this year by the College Admission Office, not the PIN and password you received if you applied online”

Which is a shame, I like seeing things on paper!

Less than a week, everyone! I applied to the Brown/ RISD dual degree program, so I will be interested to see if I hear about that on the website “portal”. Good luck, really hope everyone on here gets in!
