How long was yours? In words

im wondering about this too. right now I'm at 870 words, about 1.5 pages.
i assume they want description if they're asking for our ECs in paragraph form, but how much description??

anyone else?

where does it say paragraph form...?

it says list, i thought. "your individual list of activities"

so its not supposed to be an essay, right?

Do whichever way you think best shows yourself.. You need to take a risk when you are answering those questions

on the paper app it says the describe the activities you're in as well as your time commitment to them and then it gives you about a page and a half of blank lines, which I assume is suggesting paragraph form. personally I think it would make more sense and be more clear to put it in a list with a description next to each activity, however, I don't know if this is considered acceptable.

im gonna do a list with description next to each one.

if they wanted an essay it would say essay. you can do one if you want...but i dont think its neccesary.

I am just thinking of writing "View attached activity sheet" because I am sending them a two page detailed activity sheet anyways.

are you guys doing the online or paper app? the reason i ask is b/c i dont know how part II of the online app is phrased b/c i'm going to be applying with the paper app (where they have lines dedicated to writing it out in essay form.

Paper app. Someone on this forum noted that they just wrote "See attached sheet for essay" and just sent in the typed essay.

im gonna do online and just list them like a resume.

is 6 pages too much because that is the length of my activities list..and there is no possible way for me to shorten it.

It's fine. That's hwo long mine was.

communistkinght, how many activities do you have to make it come out to six pages?

Six pages?! Haha...mine is just two. Did you list every activity you have ever done or just the important ones?

yeah thats insane...I thought you were being sarcastic at first.

But I assume that means you wrote a lengthy description next to each activity?

D'you think it's alright if we just send in a separate activities brag sheet / resume? I'm wondering if I should submit the entire application as a paper app if I do that, though..

I'm sending a resume, a theatrical resume, and a short essay each on my top three EC's (theatre, journalism, and NHS/Comm. Service.)

Is this too much?

It's nowhere near SIX PAGES though. How do you even write SIX freaking pages?!?!

I went and visited the info sessions at Brown and the woman who spoke said that the section for activities is completely open ended. You can write it in essay form, but a resume is completly fine.

I did a resume for mine, since I did it for other schools anyways, and just explained in like 2-3 bullets about what each activity entailed and how many hours/week it entailed.

I think because it's Brown, it's okay whatever you do. :)

Yea mine is the activity sheet I am sending to all colleges. Its my activities with a detailed paragraph of what the activity is (for the more unique activities) and what I did in it.

Its still just two pages.

i put like explanations next to my activities, but i never planned for it to be so long altogether
