Does Brown compare scores to the average in your school? And is it okay to choose the ACT instead of SAT? I did much better on that than the SAT, and much higher than the school average.

In Kansas, where I live, hardly anyone takes the SAT, everyone takes the ACT. So that's the only test score I sent in, and I'm sure it's fine if you only send in the ACT. They consider either so it doesn't matter. Send your best one in.

Yea, either the ACT or SAT is ok. However, good SAT II subject test scores would help.

If you choose the ACT make sure it's with the Writing section or they won't count it

I sent only my ACT scores to Brown. Technically, I guess they received my SAT scores as well when they were one of the four colleges I listed when I took the SAT as a sophomore. That was a bad decision. Oh well, at least they'll see my better scores on my transcript, even though those aren't official. I just hope that they don't think my sophomore scores were my best... because I never sent them my newer ones. Oh well... Maybe I should?

All that said, I'm from Texas where the SAT is much more popular than the ACT, although both are taken.

A 34 compared to a 2120. That's why I only submitted ACT.

ACT with writing alone is perfectly sufficient. You don't have to have SAT IIs if you do that. However, if you do SAT IIs and send the scores, at this point if you also took SAT I test, all the scores will be sent.
