How do I stay on a waiting list for another school, but still go through with my Brown acceptance?

I submitted the online thing stating that I plan to enroll at Brown next year because they did not have an option for a waitlist. Was this a mistake? Should I try to email my admissions officer?

I meant the following.

I was waitlisted at Princeton and I accepted their waitlist a week after I found out. But, obviously I have to accept another school just in case I don’t get off the wait-list at Pton. (Which will most likely happen)

So, I went to Brown’s online decision site and accepted my acceptance. There were only two options. Yes or No, I will attend ---- University. There was no option for accepting another school’s waitlist.

My question is how do I notify Brown that I am on another school’s waitlist? And did I make a mistake by accepting? Is it okay that I did that and am still on another waiting list?

You did fine; you don’t need to say you’re on another school’s waitlist. All schools expect to lose some to waitlists. Relax.

Okay, thanks. Sorry, I was freaking out. I just read one of my other college acceptances and they asked you to call a certain number if you were going on a waitlist. I wanted to make sure it’s not the same as Brown. Thanks!

You should probably come to Brown anyway :). Eating clubs… yuck.

“they asked you to call a certain number if you were going on a waitlist”

They’re refining how many to accept from their own waitlist; it’s just a courtesy to help them out, and it doesn’t affect the caller. This dance will go on for a couple of months.
