Brown and Recruited ED athletes

There was an interesting article in the BDH today, and even though most CCers aren’t recruited athletes, I thought you might still might it interesting.

I wish I was being recruited.

I hate how athletes have an unfair advantage in the admissions process.

It's not unfair. It is very hard being a solid athlete and student. It also brings diversity just like race, music, or art.

hey im looking at Brown. And I am getting recruited for singing. So you just have a passion, and really pursue it.

Whoa, I've never heard of anyone being recruited for something like singing. Actually, I've never heard of anyone being recruited for anything but athletics.

And the reason I think it's unfair is because there are many non-athletes who work just as hard at and devote just as much time to what THEY are passionate about, which might not be sports. I've never heard of people being recruited for things like journalism, or community service, etc.

Oh well, just my two cents :-)

Its so true. I'm an ath-a-lete and I found out yesterday (Dec. 4) that I got in.

what! how did you find out? online or mail?>?

lucky...

my coach called me up on my cell phone
