So I applied to brown ED, and my GC told me, excitedly, today that she was contacted to release my first quarter grades. she said this was a good thing. is it? I had straight A+s and one B+ (ap physics C), taking 4 other aps. so, is this good news?

This thread was discussing that… it seems like there’s no consensus about the meaning. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1045057-proof-being-asked-your-progress-report-means-absolutely-nothing-happy.html

Cardinalred is correct - there is absolutely no meaning behind this. Your counselor was incorrect.

^It means that you haven’t used the search function.

thanks cardinalred and bruno for clarifying!
billabongboy - sorry, I was just asking an innocent question, you didn’t have to view it if you didn’t want to

All right under your thread.

Everyone likes to be constructive and helpful, but seeing the same question come up (and answering it multiple times) gets very annoying. The search function and your eyes exist for a reason.

I think that’s a good sign that they are interested in seeing more before you get a decision. Brown does actually consider all parts of your application (as opposed to “Ivy Formula” app. process). Hope it pans out to an acceptance, but make sure you get that AP grade up a bit incase you get deferred and need to then submit your mid-year grades. But yea, sounds positive to me.
