Hi,

So in my opinion, your academics are definitely strong, including GPA, class rank, ACT scores, and SAT II. Purely academically speaking, I think your statistics are more than adequate for Brown. However, as we all know, thats only one component.

In terms of ECs , the fact that you have strong leadership is promising, however it is to a certain extent generic. Something a lot of students leave out is having a strong theme through their extracurriculars to make sure that what you do seems to almost create a person for the admissions officer and reflect your passions. I would suggest attaching a resume as supplementary material along with your common app, where you can briefly discuss ECs in bullet points. In a resume, you can group together all your leadership and student government etc. Additionally, I think you should make your research on political representations, your lacrosse business, and volunteer work stand out. As, your leadership is impressive and beneficial, but your research is unique and will make you stand out to an admissions offer, since they will find many other students with excellent grades and leadership it comes down to having certain unique activities. Keep that in mind when you list your 10 actives for the commonapp.

I think your chances for Brown, especially early, are quite promising! Academically, you are quite strong, and your extracurriculars have string leadership and a few unique aspects. Now just work on your essays, make your genuine voice shine. Best of Luck!

Could someone chance me for Brown Early class of 2022 as well? I will chance each person back, if you’d like.

I will most likely apply as a International Relations/Classics Major, perhaps including economics

For some background, I studied under the GCSE (UK) curriculum, and am currently a senior doing the IB Diploma program, so my grading system may b a little different, and my ECs since we don’t have as my clubs in school or varsity sports etc.

GPA : 3.99 (UW/4.0)
Class Rank : School doesn’t give them
Predicted IB diploma grade: 42-43/45 overall
ACT: 34 composite, 11/12 writing
SAT II : Maths 2 - 780, English Lit- 750

For IB diploma students, courses being rigorous is not a worry since we take 3 Higher Level IB subjects as compulsory, and the course is known to be rigorous, so this is not a worry.
