Hey, i literally just submitted my SAT scores right now via rush delivery. My apps are in and I am applying ED but I wasn’t aware of the stipulation that SATs needed to be sent by November 1st. For Brown, will it matter? Will they get them? Will I be pushed to regular decision? Should I even care?

@noname - how long ago did you submit your app? I submitted mine Oct. 14 and I still haven’t heard bck about it!

BY THE WAY! I just found out that last year’s ED pool found out on Dec. 13 at 5pm! SO it may only be another 43 more days until we hear back! (Found this info on an adcom blog - Prospects and Providednce)

@lexieam: Thanks for the info! It’s nice to know when EXACTLY you get your results back. On the website, it usually just says that we find out whether we’re in or not by “mid December.”

By the way, does anyone know if the adcoms will dock you points if you have a typo? I was rereading my submitted application and I found one glaring error. I accidentally wrote “strengthened” instead of “strengthen.” I’m seriously kicking myself for that one. :(

The date you find out just depends on how quickly they’re reading and the number of applicants. It was December 13th last year, and the 15th the year before. Once they get an idea of when they’ll be done, they’ll let everyone know.

HiStandardGirl:
Well, they aren’t doing things on a point system. They can’t “dock you points.” One little typo should be just fine - it shows that you’re human. I’d be worried if you had a lot. Just remember to have someone else proof-read right before you send something in.

I think we may find out on the 15th because I am pretty sure that is a monday (too lazy to check) and think maybe the 13th was a friday. I could be completely making this up.

I cannot wait. AHIHjdonveioneo. I love Brown.

Yes it is okay to apply up until the deadline. I’m sure they will actually get a LOT of applications tomorrow. If you want to beat the rush, get it in (your part) tonight! (FYI don’t wait until the Nth hour, there may be computer issues if there is volume overload. ) Also, consider, absolutely worse care scenario of being late: then it is a very early regular decision app.!?

Aaah, thank you so much! I’m kind of freaking out here since one of my teacher recs isn’t completed on Naviance yet and I still need to finish polishing up my essays… Procrastination plus perfectionism is not a good mix hahaha.

I just don’t want to be pushed to regular decision. Brown is my absolute dream school and I really want to know my fate as soon as possible and show my dedication with ED. <3
Good luck to all you ED’ers! :D

Does anyone know if the ED agreement can be mailed after the deadline? I completed my part and so did my parent, but my counselor didn’t. She sent her forms through the mail, not including the agreement. I’m going in to get the form signed tomorrow and I’ll probably rush it. That should be okay, right? Everything else was in by last Wednesday.

Is it just the application that has to be in by the deadline, or does all the supplemental information have to be in as well - sat, rec., transcripts, etc.? The SAT was sent as a priority rush, but still don’t know if the college counseling offfice got their stuff in.

I think anythhing you personally don’t send in gets a little leeway … also this power outage in the NE has colleges pushing deadlines on everything!
