Well, there’s an actual agreement between the Ivies to admit on the same dates. And the last two Ivy decision dates have been March 28 and March 29 for 2013 and 2012 respectively. I mean, you never know what’ll happen, but it is very likely that the decision date will be March 27.

And many colleges claim online, over the phone, or through email that their decision date is April 1, but what this truly means is that April 1 is the latest possible date that you will receive a decision. Most colleges will release earlier. The only one on my list that I will probably receive around April 1 is Georgetown, but that’s because they do not post admissions decisions online. They release decisions by mail and usually mail them a few days before.

You’re welcome. Have my Princeton interview today. A little nervous and stressed (more because I have a crapload of work to do tonight). I haven’t received my Brown id or email yet… Oh well, I’ll probably only start to get nervous if it gets deep into February. And besides, I’ve heard many applicants haven’t gotten theirs either. I guess, that’s what I get for applying Jan. 1. Haha… :)

@my88keys Many students haven’t received and confirmation email yet, including me, but I heard they are supposed to be sent sometime this week.
And I have my Princeton interview tomorrow, good luck!
I actually want and don’t want to know. Time will go by super fast with the financial aid application, SAT and TOEFL(not the best idea to take those last minute) and senior finals. Urgh thinking about it, I just want this stress to be over! :D

My daughter applied ED and has never received any emails from Brown. She had to call Brown Computing Accounts/Passwords to get her log-in information. Even now, everything from Brown has come via snail mail.

She did receive an email for the interview, but directly from the interviewer, not from Brown.

When my D originally applied to Brown, the emails and log-in info, etc. initially started getting sent to her 11 days after the ComAp was downloaded by Brown… and that was back in Oct when they were less busy than now. So I would suspect that everyone will likely be contacted by the 20th or so…

I have a brown interview in two days with what seems to be a very accomplished person! i cannot wait to have a “conversation” with him and learn more about Brown and share more about myself and my activities with him.

I guess that every school is different in terms of how they process things, the availability of alumni, etc. My daughter submitted most of her applications many months ago. Her Brown interview was her first, and it occurred in early November. But she is still waiting to hear from Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth and others. Realistically, she may only end up interviewing with 1/3 to 1/2 of the total # of colleges that she applied to. Her only two admits so far do not interview. So I guess that it is hard to tell the impact or importance of such. But I am highly confident in Brown in particular given all that we have seen in terms of processing, communication, etc. They will have everyone squared away in time to fairly and accurately evaluate each and every applicant… regardless of whether they are able to offer an interview to all applicants. And hopefully this is the same for all of the Ivies.

Not really news to most here, but the article was recently updated to say: “Applicants will be notified of their admission decisions March 27 at 5 p.m.”
