My S applied(on Nov 1st) to ED for both UG & PLME. Today he got an email from an alumni for a local town interview. My S is so pumped up. Me too. I know getting an interview is a great thing. My question is “On what basis these applicants are invited for an interview? Everyone? Most of them? Filtered list? Random list?”. We are curious. He has been looking into Brown since the day-1. Thank you all. Good luck to all.

I see the answers to my question in <a href=“Brown interview FAQ and answers - Brown University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/810532-brown-interview-faq-and-answers-p1.html

=====
Q) Who gets interviewed?
A) Brown wants everyone who applies to get interviewed. There is absolutely, positively no connection between who gets interviewed and who is going to be accepted.
The only students who don’t get interviewed are those who go to certain prep schools.

Athletic recruits: Yes, we want to interview you, too, even if you have a likely letter.

@parentofs Good luck to your son for his interview. My D has applied to PLME as well. but we have not yet received any confirmation email or interviews
has your son received the conf, email from brown?

Recd none from Brown. Just an email from interviewer.

@parentofs thank you

I applied on October 30th and just got the confirmation email with information to set up my brownaccount.

D applied Oct 30 and just got the BrownAccount email today. No interview email yet.

Yesterday, I got a phone call from my interviewer, but I haven’t gotten any BrownAccount information yet.

I just found out that the CSS profile was due on Tuesday… Does anyone know if there is any way I could still turn that in…?

no worries and no panic!
we also missed the deadline and we came to know about it just yesterday!. we called the Brown admissions office and they were kind enough to allow us to submit it by yesterday EOD. Hurry and try calling them - they are very responsive, kind and amazing! good luck

Yea, I missed the deadline as well and I emailed Brown and they said that its fine as long as I submit it as soon as possible. They also mentioned that missing the deadline would have no effect on your admission decision, since they’re need-blind.

I submitted the application on Nov. 1 morning, and I’m really nervous if I’m the only one who haven’t heard anything back from neither brown nor interviewer. Am I the only one?? Should I call Brown and ask them if they have gotten my materials?

Also, I didn’t know the deadline for sat scores were nov. 1, so I just submitted my sat scores from october couple days ago. Is this gonna cause any problem or am I fine?

I would say, as long as you submit your application on time, you don’t have to worry about turning in supporting documents late. Think of it, as you putting a foot in the door by submitting your application, once you have that you can turn in other docs.

Just keep in mind that for the early decision round the decision making process happens in November so try to get everything in as soon as possible

When I self-reported my SAT scores in the common app, I mentioned SAT Spanish w/ listening, which I was going to take tomorrow. But I don’t feel ready and I don’t think I’ll do well.

Will it matter if I don’t take it, or don’t send in the scores? Will Brown be waiting for that score to arrive? I already have enough subject tests, I’m just worried it’ll hurt me because they are now expecting the score.

Hi! I’m a Brown student (class of 2016) and I’m writing an article for the Brown Daily Herald about early decision applicants. Message me if you’re interested in being interviewed for my story. Thanks!

Hi. I’m a senior this year and applied ED to Brown. I love the school and would be honored to be a part of your story if you still need people to interview.

I applied oct 31 and I haven’t gotten a confirmation email or an interview contact :/

not to worry! my D applied on Oct 31st as well and we havent received either

I submitted on Oct 30, and got my confirmation email on Nov 7th with the Login Info, etc. I think Brown just has a lot of applicants and has to methodically go through them. Don’t worry if you haven’t gotten it yet
