My interview was less than 20 minutes and seemed very scripted on her end. I’m kindof upset by how it went
I had my interview a two days ago. We intended to meet in person, but because of the snow we ended up having to do it over the phone. I actually really enjoyed my interview. I thought it was the best one I’ve had so far!
Honestly tho its ok. Because I know it wasn’t my fault. the way she moved the interview along I did everything I could to make it conversational and she just had her list of questions to get through.
Does anyone know how to check whether Brown received our midyear reports? I can’t find it anywhere in the portal.
Also, none of the materials I submitted through common app has been confirmed by my portal. Is the processing just taking long? Also I had my interview this week. It was good although my interviews keep being 30 mins long.
Do u guys know anyone got in with an awful interview? I’ve just gotten my interview via phone 1 hour ago and it went terribly. The interviewer seemed so indifferent to my story and ended up suggesting that I should apply to more school, particularly University of Alabama Hunsville. WTF is that???
@zacle1234 I really don’t think an interview is going to make or break you, particularly if you have great letters of recommendation. It sounds like your interviewer was kind of a jerk… That is such a weird thing to say to a potential student. I hope you get in, but if you don’t, I doubt the interview was the deciding factor.
@zacle1234 Do you know if the interviewer lives/works in Alabama, was born or grown up around Huntsville area? Maybe s/he is trying to lure away students from Brown to other universities?
@zacle1234 god that sucks. I had a “bad” interview as well, but my interviewer just seemed to want to check off her required questions and wasnt too interested in continuing the conversation past that. I’m glad she didnt suggest other schools tho, which is incredibly rude to do.
@zacle1234 I’ve been told by many admissions officers that the interview can only help you, unless it was absolutely horrible and the applicant has no socializing abilities… I don’t think you should overthink it. My interviewer for a different Ivy even asked if I applied to any state schools or had any questions about other schools she had attended. We also talked about the possibility of me getting addicted to marijuana, so I’m sure it won’t negatively affect their report of you. It doesn’t seem likely that they’ll include the nitpicky stuff like the number of schools you applied to…
Omg @tuty143 ikr…
BTW, I’m a big fan!..
@Oddenigma didn’t realize I had fans! lol
@tuty143 I’m new on this but while using my phone. … When I wasn’t on cc…I read your responses on the Harvard thread, from the" I can’t open it guys" to encouraging people… Then you got deferred…and I didn’t see encouragements for you…I was pissed… I forgot your cc name so I couldn’t message.
Good luck with your brown app!
my brown account has no info about my application when i log in… anyone else? im located in california if that matters
it just says my name, profile, change password, and change id…
Hey guys, I have a question about MidYear reports. Does Brown want us to submit them through Naviance or Common App?
@Oddenigma aw. thank you for your interest tho! but yeah after the deferral i just needed to ease of cc for a bit lol
I submitted my app about a month ago but no portal login yet. Should I contact Brown?
@stvika First check your spam, junk, promotion folders and if you can find any communication from Brown then yes, I suggest calling them. Normally it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get portal.
Do you guys bring resumes to the interview? Or do u guys just talk with an alumni without showing them?
