It sucks so much knowing that at this point, my application might already be sitting in a rejection pile…
ok guys we’re gonna be positive!! make some brownies or do some breathing exercises because i’ve been so stressed out since i submitted my app and i’m actually getting white hairs
@archaeologygirl lol brown-ies
@smartypants57 didn’t even notice that until just now but yeah, let’s pretend it was intentional
@archaeologygirl i just laughed at your post. something about the thought of someone aging like 20 years from the anxiety of college admissions made me giggle. I seriously feel your pain though. I’ve never been so stressed out, and I’ve picked up meditation and cookie baking to pass time and relax me… :))
Yeah? Well, I have the big bad final exam which my entire 12th grade depends upon this entire month. SO FREAKIN’ STRESSFUL
I got a likely letter today!!! I am in so much shock because I never in a million years expected one. There was a lot of screaming and hugging in my household today!

@tuty143 Congrats!!
Does anyone know when decisions are released? Thanks!
@fulofsteel March 31st is Ivy Decision Day! That is when all Ivies should be releasing their decisions including brown. I believe it is also on the brown website.
It’s kinda crazy how it’s less than a month away, when we’ve been waiting so long
I’m Sorry if the formatting is so weird!

Reflection
I was seriously in shock. I actually couldn’t believe I was picked because I always viewed myself as very average. I still keep thinking this is a dream and that I need to wake up. For me what I focused on during the process was staying true to myself. I had worked very very hard throughout high school, so I had a good academic base. But for my essays I took advice from my english teachers and parents but I only made adjustments I felt stayed true to my voice. If anyone is reading this for future years, do not just join clubs because you think they’ll look nice. I guarantee it’s not worth it. I made that mistake with a few of my activities and wish I had pursued more of my interests (although it was a good experience and almost all my activities I really enjoyed). Still can’t believe I got a likely letter. I honestly thought I wouldn’t be going to college next year.
Strengths: I took an advanced schedule in high school. Instead of just taking advanced and AP, I took classes in advanced/AP that were above my grade level in Math, Science, and Spanish. Ex. Calc is only offered for seniors, but I had already been up in classes since 7th grade so I took it as a Junior
Weaknesses: My activities. I really felt like I lacked accomplishments and leadership in my activities, I also always felt my 32 ACT was not the best. Not that it’s a bad score, but it was definitely on the lower end of the spectrum.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
I don’t know. I really have no idea. If I had to guess maybe my location and ethnicity? Could be my essays? I’ve read them over so many times by this point they seem average to me. But I always felt that I was a very average (for Ivy standards) applicant and I know that I am not as talented or intelligent as the majority of other applicants. After filling this out I almost feel undeserving…
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: A few regional state schools, nothing fancy.
General Comments: College does not define you. Wherever you end up is going to be a really great experience for you. Honestly if you take anything from this it’s that you should never, ever expect anything to happen to you, because I never did! This is a surreal to me and I seriously feel like someone is going to jump out and tell me it was all a prank because I have always thought that I was nothing compared to the prodigies you all seem to be! Anyways I hope this helped and I wish you all the best luck
