**Brown Class of 2020 RD applicant thread**

I wouldn’t really say the thread is dying at all.
Congratulations @tuty143 !!

Hey guys I was wondering something. Maybe someone has an idea, but how does the financial aid office work like do they literally have to review everyone’s financial papers even before they are admitted or do they wait to get a list from Admissions? No speculation I am truly just curious. and would it work the same for all schools?

@whitespace thanks! I sure hope this thread isn’t dying. It’s my only source of entertainment!

I sure hope this thread isn’t dying, either. It’s the only thing feeding my already great anxiety.

Late, but what did you guys put for the optional supplement upload?

Nada nada, limonada :">

I sent them my ep

I sent two of my all-state solo recordings.

ALSO totally procrastinating studying right now :slight_smile: woohoo!

Screw studying now hahaha.

-part of the super large UChicago waitlist cohort-
Anybody else apply to a ton of the ivies? Which ones are you going open first?

@scriant - I applied to all 8! Yeah I am definitely trying to strategize the order I’ll open them ahead of time. It’s more interesting than waiting. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alphabetical? Random? Personal rank?

I had a personal rank, but I think I’m going to wait for the emails to roll in.

@Anonymoose3 Haha, I [only] applied to seven. I’m not sure whether I would want to open from highest priority to lowest priority or the other way around…

@schroscat I seem to remember you on the Harvard SCEA thread (I lurked :D). #deferred ;-;

@Scriant I’m pretty sure I live on CC. Funny thing is, I have no chance for any of these schools.

@Scriant SEVEN? Wow. Just… I couldn’t imagine applying to almost all. I’d be interested to know which one you left out, and why.

I applied to three Ivies: Harvard, Brown, and Columbia. I think I will open Columbia first, then Harvard/Brown. I haven’t decided.

I only applied to four :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m opening them in order of how little I care to how much I care (saving Brown for last)

And I, too, have a negative chance

If you multiply a negative by a negative, it becomes a positive.

Although - I applied to three, so negative times negative times negative is still negative. :slight_smile:

I think I’m going to open Harvard second after Columbia, and save Brown for last as well. I should have also heard from Georgetown by then, which is the one I’m most nervous about. SFS is so hard to get into.

I applied to 6. I think it was all in a haze of sleep deprivation.

Applied to 5, could’ve applied to 4 but decided 5 because why the hell not.

@schroscat -inb4 admitted into everything-

@whitespace I applied across the board in basically everything. I’m spreading a wide net so that /if/ my preferences changed over these few months, I would still have plenty of variety in schools to pick from. (I’ve changed top schools like three times so far, and I’ve also changed my prospective field of study quite a few times too, so just knowing that I applied broadly helps with my peace of mind). The one I didn’t apply to was Dartmouth. Not too much of a fan of the culture there, and I do not foresee myself ever becoming a fan of it. I did mostly have a separate reason for applying to each of the Ivies though.

Got rejected from MIT recently, and waitlisted at UChicago too, so I’m not that enthusiastic about my decisions anymore lol.
