Got smacked lol. Accepted to UMich (rejected Ross preadmit), and RU Honors college. But then this week waitlisted by BC and Chicago and rejected at Northwestern. It’s curtains for me.
@matildak6 So far I’ve been accepted to UVa, UNC, William & Mary, Duke (likely), Cornell (likely), Columbia (likely), and Johns Hopkins. This week was kind of crazy cause I found out from three out of that list (Cornell, Columbia, and Hopkins). I still have my fingers crossed for Ivy Day though (Brown, Harvard, and Dartmouth)!
You all are sitting over there with multiple likely letters and I’m just hoping for an acceptance lol
I’ve gotten accepted to UChicago, Boston College, Northwestern, and a likely from Brown. I got deferred from Harvard SCEA. Hopefully I hear some more good news come Ivy day
@idkwhichcollege @kunchandak hey lets commiserate about Northwestern. I know I’ll get over it but I now feel listless and uninterested in the schools I’ve gotten into and also the 7 more I have to hear from
@allthingstesla @tuty143 sounds like you have awesome options!
@matildak6 I mean if you wanted to go, I definitely feel bad for you lol. I didn’t wanna go regardless, but the fact that I haven’t gotten in to any of these schools is a bad sign
@matildak6 yes definitely! I’ll have a tough choice to make come April!
I feel like my main mistake in this process was that I applied to schools that notify late. I only have two acceptances (one from my auto-admit state school) and one deferral, and my first RD school I hear back from is not until tomorrow. Wishing I’d applied to at least somewhere that notifies at the beginning of March.
is anyone else applying to the BRDD program?
@kunchandak oops my B, I guess I assumed you’d want to go there if you applied. Of course, I applied some places I don’t really want to go to, too. But yes it was my top, I flew a long way to visit and sent an email about how much I liked it and sent a magazine issue I made as a supplement- both things were added to my file- and that wasn’t even enough to make the wait list! Oh well
Accepted to UCLA, UCI, Cornell (diversity letter), Brown (likely letter), Columbia (likely letter, Rabi Scholar)
Accepted to Northeastern, Fordham, Penn State, U Pittsburgh, U Michigan, BC, BU, and Syracuse. I’ve gotten merit scholarships from all, so it would be difficult to choose between them! Hoping an ivy comes through since they are so good with aid; it would be a no brainer (plus I love the ones I applied to). I was rejected by UChicago (deferred EA) and Northwestern this week so I would love an acceptance on ivy day!
I’m over here on the waitlist for BC and UChicago thinking “holy shit no way I’m getting into brown”
Where else is everyone waiting to hear from? For me it’s Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale!
You never know where you’re going to be accepted and where you’re going to be waitlisted and where you’re going to be denied. It’s just not that simple.
What you can do is realize that you’ve put your best self forward, and if you don’t get in, it’s not because of your failures, but rather that you didn’t quite fit the profile that they were looking for that year.
Well thank god I can learn wisdom and glory here on College Confidential. I’m not worthy of this knowledge.
I’m an international applicant who have applied for Financial Aid. I submitted CSS profile and a bank statement to brown (I’m currently in the USA) but i did not work on IDOC nor get emails from college board. Do we need IDOC?
We’ve already established the fact that brown will contact an applicant if they believe that they need the IDOC to complete your financial aid award. If they do not contact you then you don’t need to submit it.
Hey guys!! I just wanted to say good luck to you all since we’re getting close to Ivy Day, and I’ve been stalking for ages without an actual account. Can’t wait for the combined struggle!
