Summer@Brown emails are just listserver PR emails. It just means at some point u agreed somewhere to recurve emails regarding programs at Brown. They go out to everyone on their distribution list.

Haha okay thank you @browned2020 ! I know a lot of people over on the Vandy forum are trying to figure out a way in, so I didn’t know if you had found one.
Ok, so I’m really confused because today I received a likely letter follow-up email (yay!) but I never got the physical letter??? College mail often arrives at my house later than expected, but it seems like a lot of people got their letters earlier this month. Now I’m visualizing the horrible scenario of admissions having sent me this email mistakenly (although there isn’t an epidemic of Brown mistakes–as far as I’m aware–as in the case of JHU). Could someone confirm/reassure that it’s possible for the email to arrive before the letter itself?
@theoriginalclone I wouldn’t do anything; I think admissions cannot tell you anything officially until Ivy Day (3/31), so contact wouldn’t answer your question.
As stressed as you probably are, you stil should wait the nine days for official notification.
My personal (totally arbitrary but mildly educated) guess is that your letter was not a mistake and that you will be admitted officially on Ivy Day.

@aBitOfLuck thank you, this makes me feel so much better! My mind just jumped to the worst case scenario I was thinking I might still call them to request a replacement for the physical letter (for posterity) which would also allow me to confirm its legitimacy.
@theoriginalclone I was just thinking that you should do nothing because Brown is likely scrambling to finish decisions right now and probably doesn’t want to be bothered.

@TheDeutschlander2222 Oh, I didn’t mean it’s easy to get into! It’s definitely a big deal and you should be proud.(My parents actually met at UofR Law:) ) I was just curious because I think it’s cool to see out of state-rs considering Richmond, which is a super cool place and full of great schools and opportunities (but often overlooked)… good luck choosing, and congrats on UofR!!!

Ok sorry for posting one after the other but can you believe this whole thing is almost over? We did the grueling applications, we’ve (almost) made it through the wait. Soon we get to move onto the next step. Getting excited for this new stage of our lives! Good luck everyone! You are not defined by a college.
I like that whole idea of moving ahead @tuty143 We are each taking a step forward, no matter the direction (or college) and it’s an incredible time in our lives.
