**Brown Class of 2020 RD applicant thread**

This is my favourite thread .

@RightHand I have the option.

Am I the only one who likes Batman v Superman?

Sorry to be late, crashing into the party just few days before the decisions are out.
Just had a anxiety attack about life 4:30AM. So, how is everyone?

@Libertatis Ah, yes. Welcome to ECA (Existential Crisis Anonymous). We’re the Ivy version of AA.

For those of you that uploaded additional materials, did you get any sort of confirmation? Last month I uploaded a one paragraph letter explaining a new award I received, and stated that Brown was my first choice. After I uploaded it, my portal looked exactly the same i.e. under additional materials it didn’t show anything new. I didn’t send or receive any emails from admissions. Just wondering if it even got to them

@stressedblessed I went for a direct email so that I would know for sure that it got there :-/. I hope it got there for you!

@stressedblessed I didn’t either  and I had an issue that I emailed them about and was specifically told to upload to the portal, so.

I’m actually pretty sure somewhere it says that supplemenals won’t display, and no one else got confirmation, so I think we’re fine.

Little late but got waitlisted by duke Accepted JHU and really hoping Brown pulls through. Does anyone know if Brown takes demonstrated interest into consideration, I couldn’t make the 16 hour road trip and the closest place admissions visited was more than an hour away on days I had practice :frowning:

@wonderlanddd that makes me feel better, thanks!

@Mauriciog I’m wondering the same thing. I’m an exchange student in the U.S. and there are way too many traveling restrictions for me to visit Brown. But I spent a lot of time on Brown’s website and Google street view haha.

By the way, does demonstrated interest matter at all if you applied ED?

@BrownPlsThx Applying ED is the most demonstrated interest you can show. You are telling them u will 100% go there if accepted. That’s the whole point of demonstrated interest. They want to know you will commit.

They do not track demonstrated interest.

RE: demonstrated interested

“Not at all. Contacting the Admission Office is neither a requirement nor an advantage in our admission process. We offer campus tours and information sessions to provide you with the information you need to make an informed college choice, not evaluate you. And we welcome calls and emails for the same reason. Please do not feel compelled to contact us to demonstrate your interest in Brown; we know by the very fact of you applying that you are seriously interested in Brown. The number of times you call or email us will not have and impact on your admission decision.”

Guys! we are so close to finding out it’s crazy… I remember submitted my app like it was yesterday.

For those of you who uploaded an optional supplement, does it appear anywhere in your self service portal. I honestly can’t remember if I uploaded a document, and can’t find any indication on the portal that I did.

@c777123 @BrownPlsThx But I do believe showing your passion for Brown is important. Mentioning little things that appealed to you that Brown is your fit in your essay is important.

Just read through more than 50 pages of last year’s Brown discussion thread rip

@bobchillax I don’t think any confirmation or anything shows up - the only confirmation you get is a sentence that appears on your screen just after you submit the document saying that it is submitted.
