Brown Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

@jrdsnw They could have already thought you were a great candidate and wanted to admit you even without looking at your website. There really is no way of knowing.

Does anyone know what time they’ll release decisions?

Hey everyone - I just wanted to say that if everyone is as anxious as I am, there are a lot of great apps for mediation that have really helped me out over this past week - Calm, one of these apps, is great, but lots of things need a subscription. While meditation may not be for everyone, let’s all try to make it through these next few days with some semblance of our sanity intact. Good luck to everyone!!

Has anyone tried to request access to the group yet?

@ambeeywlo 5PM or 6PM. I think someone mentioned earlier that their friend called and said decisions will be out Thursday at 6PM.

@ambeeywlo Hahaha, request access to the group. That’d be hilarious if someone tried to do that lol.

@Lboss27 stop breathe think is also great! I use it before big exams/presentations and it calms me down.

@ambeeywlo One definitely shouldn’t request access to the group until decisions are out. They only want accepted students to request access.

Request and see if you’re accepted!!! lol

Take one for the team!!!

hey guys, I’m new here! I didn’t apply early like it seems most of you did, but at the moment I think Brown might be one of my top schools! best of luck to all of you in your decisions, hopefully we will be at Brown next fall!

:(|)

Hello everyone, I have been checking this post like five times a day for the past week. I am getting even more nervous having regard to the fact that the decision might come out this coming Thursday. I think I will try to calm down right now and take a break from this post. Good luck to all of you guys! Just remember that wherever we end up, we are going to do great.

My eyes hurt from the uninterrupted length of screen time I’ve spent on this thread today.

Actually, @DaveNBuster most applicants have a local admissions officer and then the applications are read by admissions officers at Brown. Therefore, a Brown admissions officer in your area most likely visited the site. Source: a Brown representative who visited my school talked about the admissions process.

I don’t think that’s correct–each admissions officer is assigned to certain areas of the country/world. That doesn’t mean that they live near you, it just means they read applications from your regions.

@sciencenerd123 is correct. Interviewing happens on a local basis (most of the time). AOs do not operate in the same way; each region has an AO who is in charge of the evaluation of students in that region. This appears to work on a random basis, with the same AO being in charge of both Rhode Island and Puerto Rico, for instance. As far as I know, all of these AOs work in Providence. Their names and regions are available on Brown’s admissions website. @DaveNBuster, perhaps look up your AO on LinkedIn and check if they work in Providence?

@jrdsnw Yep. Works in Providence. Deferral or rejection, I’m guessing.

But, technically, since the process is holistic, wouldn’t they have to review the website anyways? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s accurate.

@DaveNBuster that’s what i’d think
I thought they would be required to

I have been checking this page several times everyday and now I just get even more nervous
I try to distract myself a little bit (especially now it’s midterm week for me), yet I cannot stop thinking about Brown. I had real bad feelings recently, yet I really hope that I will be accepted since Brown has been my favorite for such a long time and I seriously cannot find anything that I don’t like about it.
Good luck to everyone who has applied ED (including me haha) and hopefully we will see each other this coming fall!!!
