The common app indicates whether or not an applicant is seeking aid. Unless a school takes steps to eliminate this information, AOs will see this info on their initial review of the application.
Did you all notice this update on the portal, âIn preparation for releasing admission decisions on March 28, 2018, the checklist on your Brown portal will no longer be available for viewing beginning at noon on Wednesday, March 21st.â At least I didnât notice this before.
Sweet God, 20 days left⊠D:
My checklist has been gone since DecemberâŠit was pretty annoying how it didnât come back after ED decisions were released b/c I couldnât see when they received my midyear transcript etc. Anyway, I canât believe how close weâre getting to decisions!!!
Both Cornell and Princeton are releasing at 7 pm so there is a good chance Brown will too.
Thatâs pretty late, I remember ED being 6PM. Does anyone know what time they released RD decisions last year?
5 p.m.
it was revealed at 11 pm european time last year [so 5 pm ET]
Are you supposed to email a thank you after interview? BecauseâŠ
I thought my interview was super awkward.
Still emailed a thank you after. Received no response.
That confirms it was a horrible interview and Iâm screwed?
@aboveaverage I also mailed a thank you note, but got no reply although I thought my interview did go well
My son wanted to, but he wasnât offered an email address to do so.
He could have cyberstalked his interviewer and do it that way, but felt like it would be weird.
His interview was in a âmass day of interviewsâ and actually lasted a full hour. He enjoyed his conversation with the gentlemen tremendously. He did thank him at the end of the interview.
lol an hour? oh man, I am screwed. I think my FaceTime interview was like 4 minutes. leaves Brown forum forever
My Harvard one back in November accidentally lasted 2 hours! We just had so much to talk about, we lost track of time. And my Stanford one was an hour and a half and he even made the student after me wait for like 30 minutes until we were done talking. I felt bad, but it was a really deep conversation
okay look you guys are worrying about minor facts againâŠ

the interviewers are busy people who have a life/work/relationships to deal with, and you are an addition to their life⊠I doubt most are gonna check their mails for the 20 kids theyâve interviewed to see if they thanked them.
-
the both interviews I did this and last year lasted around 1 hour⊠the duration also depends on how busy or what kind of personality the interviewer has⊠I just happened to speak to 2 different lovely interviewers in their late 20s/early30s + Turkish people are really talkative and open to these kinds of things. Some people are not as chill or even introverted and just want to get this job over with.

Relax⊠youâre going to go through many more interviews in your lives⊠take it easy, now stop worrying about the kid who says they had a 5 hour interview⊠who says theyâll get in 100%?
Also, it makes sense that they would not reply to a âthank youâ email. A âyouâre welcomeâ would just be awkward and unnecessary. Thanking them is nice, but them not replying doesnât mean that your interview was bad or they donât like you.
@aboveaverage I feel your pain. My Georgetown interview was a 9 minute Skype call. He was too busy in the Fall and didnât have any time to interview, so he wanted to have a phone call. I asked to Skype. It is so much better to be in person. Iâm bummed because other people in my town got interviewers who had time to meet in person and they had a great experience.
My DD had a 45 minute interview, and thanked the interviewer in writing afterwards. She requested that my DD let her know how she did, and to âstay in touchâ, which DD thought was really nice. These 7 minute interviewers should just stop doing it.
So only one person on this entire thread got a likely letter for RD? That seems way less compared to previous yearsâ amounts :0
My son had an interview with a neurosurgeon at a hospital which lasted about 45 min last year. He emailed a thank you. He applied ED and was deferred to RD. His attitude was to move on as he chances were unlikely. He was accepted off deferred.
Good luck to all who have applied and stay positive.
I had an interview with Cornell that lasted for 3 hours & 45 minutes. But I never even got a call for a Brown interview, which concerns me.
