Brown Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

@penpal11 lmao who even told you that

cc is less trustworthy than reddit

@greenfrogmemes In my experience, most claims on Reddit have been false. People I know have had similar experiences.

@MaybeHarvard2022 Ok, so to clarify: if we login to IDOC (via college board) there is a list on top with colleges what are your colleges under “Institution requesting”? Secondly, do you have a box underneath with “Required Documents” if so what college code #s are there? (this question is for anyone else who also wants to donate that info) Because I have Stanford in both, and I’m pretty sure I ain’t getting in there

Anything other than Brown Admissions should be taken with a grain of salt. But I’m having fun reading the speculation.

So I was looking at previous CC threads for Brown with someone on Reddit, and it seems like the IDOC thing MOSTLY was requested for those in the running – meaning, I looked through the profiles of a bunch of commenters and those who commented that they didn’t have IDOC requested were later rejected :frowning:

Btw Reddit is mostly student-based, CC mostly parent-based – we should take both with a grain of salt maybe lol

Actually it’s not, but the parents tend to stick around longer than the students.

On the Reddit that people are referencing it was said that the ED round of applicants had this same theory and it proved false.

My financial Aid button is missing now!

RE the financial aid “hack”:

It’s not College Board’s website that teases it out, it’s Brown’s portal: selfservice.brown.edu or sso.brown.edu

Log into our portal then click financial aid, then financial aid tab, then click undergrad students, then click requirements. If you only see two, FAFSA and CSS, under ‘Satisfied Requirements’ you were rejected as they didn’t even bother initiating your individual IDOC tax docs from College Board.

If you’re in the running (accept/waitlist), they would have pulled all your family’s individual docs from College Board, so you’d see FAFSA, CSS, and all the individual docs listed. If there were issues with docs and forms they have been personally emailing these last couple weeks. Sorry.

Financial Aid tab link no longer available. I think the IDOC page is telling, Brown doesn’t show up for a lot of people

Mine didn’t have any of the individual docs in the Financial Aid tab when I checked

This doesn’t apply to people who didn’t apply for financial aid correct?

@pz1818 Correct - if you did not apply for financial aid, you won’t have access to any of this IDOCs and other info.

Good luck to all of you tomorrow. Will be following and rooting for each of you.

Goodness, I really hope that what you guys are saying is true, because I just checked IDOC and Brown is requesting.

Fin Aid tab is now officially gone lol I guess they didn’t want us to keep on speculating
good luck to all
I think I already a R E J C C B O I with no IDOCs request.

@lizzy1234 , is what you are saying true for those whose EFC is close to Brown COA or full pay?
Thanks. It is devastating.

Omg guys so I heard if you close your eyes, click your heels together, and say “There’s no place like Brown!” three times and when you open your eyes, Bruno the Bear is standing there, then you got in! But when I did it, all I saw in front of me was an email requesting financial aid documents adressed “Dear Student” instead of “Dear (my name)” :-SS what does that mean??? Am I rejected?

Anyone ACCEPTED ED without the IDOCs request?
