Brown Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

it’s hilarious seeing reddit slang on here

Good luck everyone! Can’t wait to know for sure!

It came from a good source that Brown is a “submission file school” meaning: they only request (and pay!) for certain student’s FA info and send the CB a file with those kid’s names only. We will know soon enough if this is something or not. I’m betting it is something, which means I’m not getting in…

If you don’t see the additional docs in your financial aid portal selfservice.brown.edu, do the math. If you were admitted and missing docs they’d have personally contacted you over the last few weeks. Clinging to false hope is rather silly.

@harper3125 Make sense College Board hits us with a fee, then double dips the college on the other end. So, colleges would only pay for kids they need, i.e. kids they’ve admitted. Brown ain’t blowing $xx x 20,000 applicants. They only pay for the ~800 financial aid kids they admit RD.

@lizzy1234 Is there a way to see the financial aid portal at this point? mine is gone…

Are you guys opening decisions alone or with family/friends?

I have an unsatisfied requirement for my financial aid when I log into my applicant portal, but I haven’t received any emails about it. Does this mean I got rejected?

@myskoolcool Safely assume you’re taking an L tomorrow night.

@lizzy1234 You really aren’t nice. You have no authority, so to say things like that to people is just rude. I guess asking the questions here as if any of us know is also a bit crazy, but there is no need to act like that.

The financial aid link is back.

I am very nice. People like me. My boyfriend’s parents nicknamed me sweetheart. Some of you are just displacing your anger and frustration onto me and others who are simply giving a tip. If you don’t want to use the tip, don’t.

… I’m actually dead lol. Did you really just reference a nickname as proof that you’re nice?

CONFIRMED!

My bff now at Georgetown just logged onto her old 2017 RD Brown portal at selfservice.brown.edu

She was rejected from Brown. Guess what her 2017 satisfied requirements are at? That’s right, just the FAFSA and CSS profile. Brown never paid to pull her IDOC docs.

Writing. Is. On. The. Wall.

LOL someone who got an LL doesn’t have the IDOC forms.

Once again, those speculating are proven wrong.

@myskoolcool Don’t worry about just relax. Financial aid office and admissions office work separately. Which means FAO doesn’t know if u got admitted or not and AO Doesn’t know how far you are with your aid package. That’s why the financial aid office tell u that if u don’t send everything before the February deadline u might not get ur aid package on admissions day because they’re reviewing all of applicants files, and they give priority depending on when you submitted your financial info cuz they don’t know if you got accepted or not.

Emotions are running high for everyone. Let’s be sensitive to the needs and situation of others and avoid confrontation. We are all aiming to improve our lives via personal and academic development. Let’s leave all other negative vibes out …PLEASE!!!

Do you all have some good acceptances so far?

@lizzy1234 https://myaccount.brown.edu/activate

Are you able to activate a Brown Account?

@lizzy1234 lol apart from the fact that i got accepted into usc last week and they emailed me requesting financial aid documents yesterday. like i said before, your financial aid theory means nothing.

@lizzy1234 I think we can ALL safety assume we’re taking an L just based on the acceptance rate. Please don’t be rude to others.
