Brown Class of 2023 Applicants Discussion

Yes! Thank you!

@justHere2001,
If you click the ‘student’ tab there’s a courses@Brown link which takes you to a ‘Courses at Brown’ site. I’m sure it’s there for you.

Does anyone know when Brown will notify ED decision??
I applied to Brown for ED, but the websites only says the result will come out in mid-December…

My interviewer iterated to me that maybe 20-25 percent of applicants get admitted under ED, and Maybe 55-60 percent get deferred, and the rest get rejected. not too bad odds if you ask me. I personally think its important to go in with an open mind of anything can happen, the admissions committee for many college is shrouded in secrecy, so no one knows what can happen. Best of luck to all.

I applied ED!! I can’t wait any longer for the results… It’s truly killing me

Good luck to all 2023 applicants.

Can everyone post why they did ED?

Personally, I was on a college visit in NE and had a friend at Brown invite me over. I registered for tour and information session and, Wow!!! I loved how superstitious the University was, the close community at my friend’s building, and her even more the professors and opportunities under the Engineering department.

I applied ED because it was the only school that I visited where I really got that “gut feeling” that I belonged there. It was also the one I toured where I fell in love with not only the campus and image of the school but the identity of it and what it values!

I toured and fell in love with Brown and the town of Providence. Also many other reasons that are too long to explain here.

Also heads up - someone on Reddit called admissions the other day and apparently they said they would email us about the notification time early next (now the current) week. He said he thought that meant decisions would come out Thursday or Friday, but I personally think there is a good chance it will be earlier, since Brown never seems to notify ED applicants about the decision release date more than a day before decisions are released.

@apmaster10 I hope that is true! I can’t wait any longer!

I really want to know, but at the same time I don’t because I’m 99% sure I’m going to get deferred…

Good luck everyone!

@worldofwonder14 same! I’m so prepared to be deferred, but I never entertained the idea of being rejected. It would be heartbreaking ?

I’m fully expecting to be deferred (and avoiding thinking about a possible rejection…), but as a reminder to myself and others: wherever we end up, we will find happiness there! If we don’t go to Brown, think of the other possibilities that it will open up. One decision from one particular school does not determine your character, competence, or intelligence in any way. We just have to keep our heads up!

Hey I applied Brown ED and am an athletic recruit…decent stats 3.9 UW 34 ACT internship and clubs…didnt get likely letter. I am very stressed

Are you sure you have a 3.9 UW? If you did, you shouldn’t stress—from what I’ve heard, they exclusively admit athletes with over 3.9 GPA (unweighted, of course).

You heard wrong.

Anyone from Long Island Applying!!! The suspense is killing me

anyone from cali applying?
