Brown Class of 2023 Applicants Discussion

stat???

Accepted. All I have to say is I’m a PERFECT example of a student who got in due to the holistic approach. I go to a sucky high school, got a flat 1400 SAT, didn’t take a single SAT subject test, solid ECs and a good GPA but nothing THAT special. I’m telling you guys, the universe has a plan for all of us, and when you know you’re meant to go somewhere it’ll happen. Don’t worry to those who’ve been deferred, and to those accepted, can’t wait to go to school with you next year!

Not a huge surprise but I was deferred. Congrats to everyone that got in!! For those in the same boat as I am, I hope we all get accepted to a school we learn to love

Deferred

to those who got in can you share stats and “hooks” please? It could be very instructive for the rest of us as we read the tea leaves.

Best wishes for all - I got deferred

Btw, congrats to those accepted.

deferred.

RE this post: Are we supposed to send additional materials if we are deferred? Like additional essays? And do you think that I should take the ACT in february if I have a SAT of 1510? Is the ACT considered as a Subject Test due to its science section? I feel really discouraged right now and I have no idea what should I do next.

My 2 cents is not to focus on taking more tests. And don’t be discouraged. This is a relatively small office fielding thousands of applications. You will find the right match and create a wonderful experience for yourself. I would suggest focusing on ED2/RD and think of how to use the ingredients you have to get there. Others may disagree but as your time is limited, that’s where I would put your focus. Take a few days to absorb this information and then create your plan B.

And btw ACT is not considered a subject test. The College Board has subject tests that are known as SAT II.

Can I read someone’s rejection letter?

Congrats to all those that got in! I got deferred, and I’m trying to stay hopeful. Hope everything works out for everyone.

To all those deferred and especially those who have been deferred ED then accepted for Brown please visit this forum: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/2115590-brown-ed-deferred-class-of-2023-p1.html?new=1

Thank you!

Congrats!

Deferred is not rejected. I was deferred last year and still made it to Brown. Don’t give up hope—use this to push you harder and truly give other schools the chance to wow you with how great they are. Make sure to get excited about those other places as well. You’re all amazing.

Got deferred tonight. I know it’s not a rejection but I had so much hope when I opened the letter, then utter disappointment.
