Brown, Columbia, NYU, Skidmore, Georgetown, Reed, Princeton, and Dartmouth

I'm a sophmore in a very prestigious NYC private school (I don't mean to sound obnoxious, but it's been called the best private school in the nation and I do think that is relevant) and I know it may seem early to think about this, but I'd love to know what you think I could improve and if there's any chance of getting into these schools, or if I should just alter my goals a bit.

I haven't taken the SAT yet, but I am a very good test taker. I've taken incredibly difficult, competitive tests and ranked in the 99th percentile, so as a result I'm not THAT worried about that. I really don't mean to sound obnoxious, but it's all I can offer here in terms of standardized tests.

-GPA - 3.5 UW. My school doesn't offer any APs or Honors because all of the classes are.
This year, I'm taking:
- Algebra II
- U.S. History
- Spanish II
- Chemistry
- American Literature
There isn't much choice allowed in tenth grade classes. Next year I'm taking:
- Greek
-Comprehensive Spanish
- Precalculus
- Atlantic World History
- Physics
- an English course on John Dunne

My strong points are English, math, and language, my weakest areas are science and history.

ECs:
- Head of debate club
- Acted in two mainstage productions in my school and did tech for another, theater is my main interest and I'm going to take an advanced Drama Lit. class in my senior year, as well as continue theater work
- Basketball manager
- Film Club
- Tour guide
- Tutor for kids taking a high school entry test
- I'm slightly obsessed with origami, and the math components involved. I do a lot of it in my spare time and that may sound trivial, but it's actually very "academic".

Summer activities:
- India language immersion
- Montana leadership program
- Psychology internship (this summer)
- The summer before senior year, I have a pretty much confirmed internship at the Tribeca Film Festival.

I want to major in psychology, that's my main interest. I could go on and on about it but I have a true passion for it. Unfortunately my school doesn't offer any classes in it, so I don't have much to show for it.

I know this post seems a little incomplete, but if anybody could tell me if I have any chance at any of these schools, and if not, what would be more in my league, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

You're unweighted GPA seems to be below average, but everything else seems good. You might have a shot at NYU and Reed, but everything else seems to be a reach.

First of all, keep in mind you're still a sophomore, and have a long time till application crunch comes. Second, assuming you do manage to score in the 2200-2400 range of SAT (if you are as good a test-taker as you say you are), all colleges except Skidmore, NYU, and Reed are still going to be reaches.

You really need to raise your GPA to at least 3.7-3.8 range, and you need to show at least one EC you are really passionate about, because right now you seem to have a scattered variety of interests, and your resume looks more like a laundry list. As a firm believer in the power of the college essay, the more passionate you are about your ECs, the more likely you are to write an interesting, standout essay which could tip the balance in your favor at tough colleges like Princeton and Columbia. Good luck.

trust me...99 percentile isnt that great...you'll need probably over 2300 on the SAT with your current stats to have a good chance. U have ECs, but you don't have depth. You need to be really good at something...that's all I can suggest
