I know on the website that you can just upload a document for the EC section, but I was wondering what would be considered “too long.” I don’t think there is a specific limit, but what is a good range to aim for if I’m writing in essay format?

Probably around three pages. I actually uploaded a r

Seven PAGES?!! are they gonna have time to read all that? mine's is so condense :( .. i hope thats not a bad thing!! its just in list form.

It's a list of ECs, hobbies, sports, unusual/beneficial experiences, and then I just elaborate a bit more on four of my things. Like, three paragraphs for each (my internship, two clubs that I started, and one of my hobbies).

wait..so for hobbies..you could put ... "reading.."?

Well, for my hobbies I put piano and art and achievements in each. I think that's more like the type of hobby they want one to elaborate on. I think things like rock collecting could even work if you put a spin on them and showed enough passion. I was a little worried with my EC's because some of my activities (like NFL, which is speech/debate) require a lot of explanation. It was hitting around three full pages. I'm really glad someone else had one about that long.

i tried to keep mine to one page...it was the space given, thus the general guideline for how long they want it to be. if i were an admissions rep i don't know if i would want to read seven pages about extracurriculars (no offense)......it just seems kind of excessive considering the space given

I agree about the whole seven pages thing. That's just a bit too long. I did a 2 page resume and then 3 paragraphs about my most important activities. So basically it was just three pages, which I don't think is too much.

At least my r

Haha, my EC resume is probably the weakest part of my application. It's two pages, but one page of it is just an essay explaining a hobby.

Well, I should say mine is only so long because of the way it's organized. It isn't in tabular form, but rather, each invididual piece of information nearly gets its own line in bulleted format.

Uh, I just made a list and briefly described what I did, sort of like the instructions said. Hope I don't get screwed for following orders

mine was two and a half pages double spaced....that seems soo short compared to seven pages...but i thought my response was on the longer side of things oringially...can you pm me your seven page response

I'd rather not because it has a lot of my information which I don't necessarily want disclosed and it's exactly as I described. If everything was condensed, it would only be about 3-4 pages.

ECs are highly overrated. HTH.

I haven't done mine yet but I think it'll come out to 1 page, maybe 1.25 pages max.

YAY BROWN!!! (sorry just wanted to make my 700th post a cool one)

I applied ED (and was accepted) and mine, I don't think, was even one page. I just listed my awards and my activites (separately) in their order of importance. I didn't describe, explain, or elaborate on anything (which only needs to be done for very obscure/rare activities). Note that the form actually says "You may want to consider drawing upon the following areas in compiling your individual list of activities".

In contrast to Addicted's EC presentation, I put up an entire r

Lol, thanks Addicted. I was getting a bit nervous here, since I've much to do on my Brown application with only three days remaining. I think I'll just list, as well.
