BROWN ED 1st QUARTER GRADES

did everybody’s guidance counselor’s get calls asking for first quarter grades? does this mean that you made it like past a certain round or does everybody just get asked???

According to my GC (and the Brown checklist on their site), you're supposed to have sent those in with everything else. So, sorry, it's unlikely it's a "round passing" kind of thing. Good luck, though.

My GC was never told to send so I don't really know what that means...hopefully nothing bad. Good luck!

It's important for candidates that want to show academic consistency or consistently strong academic performance.

Uh-oh..

I found that when my GC sent my grades on Thursday, she forgot to mention an explanation for a "No Grade" I received for a course (for half the first quarter I didn't have a teacher, so the second quarter would have a double-grade for the class). I hope Brown wouldn't mind her sending an explanation of the No Grade on Monday.. but if they do, I think my fate might be sealed depending on how they look at it. :(

don't sweat it..you should be ok :) decisions are probably sealed anyways

Well, that's a scary thought!

Wouldn't it be funny if the adcoms procrastinated as much as we do, and they still had a couple hundred applications left to read? :D

haha that would be hilarious

It's more than possible that they have a few left to do.

my counselor told me brown called for the 1st mp grades of the 3 ed applicants from my school. (they needed them from the other 2, i sent mine in when i applied)...but to answer ur question, daveb is probly rite. its very likely they still have some ppl left to review in which 1st mp grades will be take into consideration.

yeah my counselor was called 2 weeks ago from my admisisons rep asking to fax over my first MP grades and he told me they got to talking for like 15 minutes, hopefully good things haha, so yeah in my case they did ask for them.... hopefully that means i'm being highly considered (fingers crossed)

I'm curious.. when one of my friends called Brown, she got a response along the lines of "If we needed the credential, we would have notified your school of it by now." Rather ambiguous, I think. I e-mailed them and was told to have them faxed immediately.

I prefer taking up the responsibility rather than risking it on something I might not be able to make sure had happened.

That's kind of nervewracking! My school has only given out progress reports so far-- do you think they will call my counselor to ask what my grades were? That might have been awkward, since I told my counselor I wasn't applying early anywhere, and then changed my mind without bothering to tell her :p

Wow, Skyway, I'm running to my GC tomorrow to ask if she sent mine in, or if she was asked about them or anything like that. Geez!
