You’re definitely looking like a really strong candidate for Brown ED, but your ECs (aside from the great array of math/science related awards, etc.) look really scattered. You should definitely take off “Invited into the National Society of High School Scholars,” which is just a scam… and probably French Club or the Muscular Dystrophy Association too (since they seem like short-term, less significant activities). Your ECs are extremely impressive but they look a little bit like a laundry list/like you’re trying to buffer them too much.

Obviously your course rigor is excellent, as is your GPA (what about class rank?). However on the SAT IIs, definitely don’t take Math IC and Math IIC. There’s no point, and since you took AB Calc in sophomore year Math IIC should be a breeze for you (as long as you do a practice test or two to get a feel for it). Math IC, as I’ve heard, is rather pointless if you can do well on the Math II (plus, the curve is really harsh on Math I but lenient on Math II… win-win situation).

Good luck! Again, you have great chances but don’t have a one-track mind for Brown. Explore your options, etc.

Thanks so much jamiroquai!!! That was a very insightful analysis and I really appreciate it. I agree with you. I will take some of my ECs off because it LOOKS like I’ve done them for college (I’m genuinely interested in everything I do. I swear!! lol). My rank is 8/324 right now. It should go up after this semester even though I feel as if it doesn’t matter if it goes up much more lol.

Your ACT score needs work. Have you tried the SAT?

Lol, your stats look so similar to mine. Swimming+math ftw.

Even though i’ve already got helpful advice and chances, i would like morrree soooo bumpppp :)

Is it possible to send only certain AP scores?

I was under the impression if you sent one AP score you send them all.

Ya bigdawg. You choose which scores you’d like to send

hmmm well your an IB candidate so you should have a special edge when it comes to Ivys such as Brown. Your awards seems adequate enough, but I would suggest you try and snatch a few more awards if u can. Just show a clear passion for the major and subjects in school on your app essay and I am sure Brown will consider you as a likely candidate.
