Do you think it is not a good idea for international student to apply the Brown for Early Decision with financial aid or “with financial aid plus with PLME”?

Any comments will be highly appreciated.

PLME is extremely difficult to get into but as far as I know, it can’t hurt.

Just be aware that Brown is need-aware for international students. There are internationals who need aid who are accepted – but there are some who are denied simply based on finances. Make sure to apply to schools that are financial need blind for internationals.

I would say wait because Brown takes into account need-based aid for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS only

I’m pretty sure that applying for PLME doesn’t hurt you in any way, however, as others have said, applying for aid as an international is a different story. If you’re willing to pay any amount to go to Brown, go for it.

I have American Citizenship (born in LA), but I currently live in Canada. Would applying for financial aid STILL affect my chances of admittance.

As I understand it, if you are an American citizen then you should be fine – Brown is financial need blind for American citizens.

For the American citizen thing, I’m pretty sure they’re still need-blind, but you may need to call they’re finaid department to figure out what tax forms to send in, because I don’t remember an option for non-US tax forms (there may have been, and i’m just forgetful).

Does anyone know if applying for ED decreases chances for Financial Aid for International Applicants?
