Typical, I make an account just for this haha. I'm such a nervous wreck. I know my SAT scores are low for Brown but I'm hopeful I can make up for it...

Hm well, first of all, I would like to say that Ivy league admissions are often a lottery. People worse than you have gotten in and people better than you have not. I would Also like to say that I am not an admissions officer. But I will give you my unprofessional opinion anyway.

Your grades are up to pare and your SAT are low, but that doesn’t kill you. You should try to make up for it with amazing essays.

You are really strong with your activities especially how they align with your mayor.

I would say, for you, Brown is a Reach. they might be amazed by how dedicated you are and admit you, or they might just find someone with more dedication.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been hoping Brown was at least a reach, I know that my essays will be unique and shouldn’t give me too much trouble.

More opinion is always appreciated!

What is it about Brown that specifically interests you? That’s an interesting combination- Physics/Journalism.

Hmm, in general the campus felt right, the attitude seemed to fit mine and although it’s strange, I really do love the chaotic Rhode Island weather. As someone who really loves art and digital design, the ability to take RISD classes(whether in the Dual degree program or just as a Brown student) is also very high up on my list. It’s also close to some adopted family, meaning should I ever have trouble, I won’t feel too isolated from sunny Florida haha.

Journalism is my true passion, but I know that a journalism career doesn’t necessarily need a major, nor does it pay the bills on it’s own. Combining my knowledge of physics with journalism for a science magazine or publication is definitely a good option career wise as niche writing is becoming more and more prevalent(while still writing regular material too). That is also why I chose Brown- the open curriculum is just what I need to narrow down my interests, I’ve got 2-4 routes considered right now and I’m fairly certain all I need is some time to explore them and I’ll know what I want.

Bumping this again for opinion, all chances appreciated!

Bumpity bump again.
