i’m taking the november sat on november 4, and browns ed deadline is nov 1. i’ve been getting 1500+ on practice tests, which is way higher than the 1230 i got back in june. should i apply ED and hope that they wait for my score to review my app or hope i get deferral? i think if i apply rd with my stats and ec i have a strong chance at admission, so i don’t want to blow it in the ED round by sending my score that i plan on getting up. thoughts??
The information you need is here https://www.brown.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/first-year-applicants
Per the website, “Early Decision applicants should complete all required testing by the October test.” Therefore the Nov. SAT won’t be considered for an ED application. Since you feel you can improve your score significantly then I’d recommend waiting for the RD round so you can submit the November SAT. Barring any major hooks, your current SAT will likely not lead to a favorable admissions decision.
yeah, thats what i thought. I’m URM, from southern california with an income of $200,000-250,000. I think my highlights are varsity tennis captain (w academic honors for 3 years, won regionals), country club tennis captain (won regionals) and president/founder of a service club. besides that, i’m in the process of sealing a $15,000 deal with my school district for an app i’ve created, and I’m currently negotiating with 8 school districts in the area. I also have really strong, personalized brown supplements and did a summer program there. it’s my first/dream school, so i want to put myself in the highest likelihood for admission as possible.
