Brown ED vs Yale SCEA?

Hi all,
I’m trying to decide between Brown and Yale for early decision. I love the open curriculum at Brown, but also the idea of residential colleges at Yale. Could someone tell me a little bit more about the reputation of each eg what the students are like, the social life on campus, as that is what it is really coming down to.

Your questions are so broad as to make it clear that applying to Brown ED is a mistake. You should apply to Yale SCEA and to Brown RD as it is common for students who have one of these on the radar to like the other one. If you are fortunate enough to gain admission to both go to admitted student’s events for both and see for yourself which feels right. It is probably a bad idea in all instances to apply ED anywhere when you have not spent at least a full day on campus going to a class and interacting with students. The higher admission rate is not worth the possibility of poorer fit and the loss of ability to compare financial aid packages (assuming your family income does not exceed $250K).
