You seem to have a heaping amount of extra-curriculars and volunteer stuff. How do you have time for it all (just out of curiosity)?

As for your chances, they seem to me to be not significantly greater or lesser than the average Brown applicant. I think that applying ED helps your chances. Make sure you get good recs and write stellar essays. At one point, when you’ve done all you can, it does all come down to luck, so may the odds be ever in your favor!

Brown: Reach

Thanks for the opinions. Bump?

Brown: Low Reach

I like your chances, and I agree with the above poster; no better or worse than the average Brown applicant.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517788-chance-johns-hopkins-ed-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

In addition to Brown ED, can you chance me for Johns Hopkins, Upenn, Columbia Engineering, NYU? My intended major is Biomedical Engineering btw

bump please?

Brown: Reach (see my post above)
Johns Hopkins: Low Reach
UPenn: Reach
Columbia: Reach
NYU: Match

Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1527858-chance-me-harvard-yale-etc-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

JHU: Low reach
UPenn: Reach
Columbia Fu: Reach
NYU: Match

bumpppp???

Brown, Penn, and Columbia are obviously all mid to high reaches. NYU and Hopkins are maybe low reaches to high matches.

how much can a really good essay help my chances? would being an siemens semifinalist significantly improve my chances?

bumpppppppppp

johns hopkins might be a reach but only because you are applying as BME major.

What’s your senior course selection?

oh nvm i see

Brown, UPenn, Columbia: reach
JHU: high match/low reach
NYU: match/low match (although super pricey!!)
Your list of ECs hurts my brain. the semifinalist thing should be emphasized. be careful ordering your ECs so they see the important ones before they start skimming. If your volunteer hours total to over 200 hours that’ll help you. make sure you group them together on your ECs list… also you can’t include anything before freshman year. THere’s nothing really “wow” about your application, although your high GPA is great. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1529081-chance-uri-unh-uconn-nyu-bu-cornell-brown-upenn.html</a> ooh and if you have great recommendations you’ll get in a lot easier

Why are you waiting? Did you just cut and paste?

You SAT is a little low (50%) for other applicants to Brown. ED shows your committed interest. Your Ec are solid, do u have one position in particular where u demonstrate leadership? Admissions committees like to see that. You GPAs are on track.
as always Ivy Leagues are low reaches at best for everyone!

Brown: reach (maybe low reac)
UPEnn: reach

chance back!!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1527194-brandeis-chance-will-apply-ed-chance-back.html</a></p>

Brown? Hey, me too. I’d say you have a good shot ED, I’d put it as a low reach or mid reach RD. One thing that struck me was the number of extracurriculars, especially those honors societies. Regardless of whether or not you are really committed, having so many memberships in various clubs can come off as just trying to do many things. Make sure you emphasize a focus, one thing that you do well among your many clubs. Besides that, you seem really impressive. Essays will matter, especially at Brown, since they seem to look for interesting people more so than just scholars.
