I’m having trouble with the essay. It seems like I can’t quite find that magical threshold that will enable me to write a peice that is witty and funny, reflective and deep, light and enjoyable and that makes me likeable yet intellectual. I’m desperately lost. And the painful part is that I’ve learned that Brown counts the admissions essay-- a lot.

I wrote a first draft of my essay, and I was wondering if any current Brown students would critique it? I need brutal advice.

My sister Gina just got to Brown and I actually was the one who proofread her application. If you want me to take a look at it or forward it to her than just PM it to me.

If the four or so opinions above aren't enough, I'll be happy to proofread. I used to love doing this for all my friends last year. PM me and I'll give you my Brown email address.

well the essay topic hasn't changed in a while - it's vaguely worded as something like, "Tell us something about yourself." which basically means have a ball and write about whatever you want.
